The City of Wichita Falls is closely monitoring a potential winter weather event in coordination with multiple local and regional agencies that is expected to begin on Friday.

🚧 Public Works Preparedness
The Public Works Department is staging equipment and personnel to ensure a timely response if conditions develop.

• 6 snow plows and 6 v-box spreaders are being prepped to deploy if the need arises
• If needed, the initial response will prioritize roadways identified in the City’s Priority Roadway Map, focusing first on emergency service routes
• Larger, high-traffic thoroughfares will be addressed next

🏛️ City Operations
As the situation develops, the City will determine whether normal operations are delayed or canceled. Updates will be shared as decisions are made.

🚰 Water Pipe Reminders
If your water pipes rupture:

• Use your private shutoff valve to turn off the water
• If you do not have a private shutoff valve or cannot locate it, call the Utility Collections Division or Water Distribution for an emergency meter shutoff
• A $30 emergency service fee will be added to your next utility bill
• There is no charge to restore water service once repairs are complete
