๐๏ธ PROJECT HIGHLIGHT | Renfro
A great example of sustainable construction is giving historic buildings new life. As the saying goes, *โWhen it comes to sustainability, thereโs nothing greener than bringing an existing building up to date.โ*
Located at 612 E. Douglas Avenue in downtown Wichita, the Renfro project transformed a historic structure originally built in 1908 as the Renfro Hotel and later known as Victoria Park Apartments.
This adaptive reuse project included the renovation of approximately 15,000 square feet of historic space, creating 20 unique apartment homes while preserving many of the buildingโs original architectural features. Residents enjoy distinctive details such as original ceiling tins, glass brick accents, garage doors, and live-work units connected by striking metal spiral staircases.
The project also introduced two commercial storefront spaces, helping revitalize the streetscape while honoring the building's rich history. โจ
