The deadline for our free Heavy Metal Summer Camp is approaching! Application deadline: May 15, 2026

We are proud to be partnering with Heavy Metal Summer Experience again this year to host our HMSE camp in Wichita, Kansas in July.

This FREE camp gives students and recent graduates, ages 16-20, the opportunity to:

✔️Work with sheet metal, piping, and plumbing trades
✔️Collaborate on real projects alongside industry professionals
✔️Tour active job sites and apprenticeship programs
✔️Explore a high-paying career path in the trades


Our camp is about 30 hours of class time with hands on experience and will run Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 – 5 pm, 7/7 – 7/30, with a graduation ceremony on July 30th.

We're excited to inspire the next generation of skilled workers and help them see firsthand what a career in the mechanical industry can offer!

Last weekend we had the privilege to attend the Great Plains Council's Regional Sheet Metal Workers' apprenticeship contest hosted by SMART Local 3.

Will Tyler, 3rd Year competed in the HVAC category and Tavyn Childers, 2nd Year competed in the Architectural category. We couldn't be more proud of how these two performed and represented our Local.

Extra Shout out to Tavyn for bringing home 3rd place in Architectural!!
