When water pressure and reliability issues threatened the efficiency and operability of the Creekstone Farms meat-packing plant in Arkansas City, Kansas, we were called in to help. Read how we collaborated across disciplines to design the optimal solution — a new one-million-gallon ground storage tank paired with a booster pump station.

This has been an exciting project for our transportation team, as we've been helping design the roadway for this unique "Modified Progressive Design Build" project approach. We're looking forward to seeing more updates as construction starts to pick up steam!

Our team recently completed our fall university career fair tour, visiting with enthusiastic college engineering students about internships and future career opportunities.

We talked to a total of 230 different students over the various career fairs. Here's the breakdown of students that we met by major:
46% - Mechanical
19% - Civil
19% - Electrical
10% - Structural
6% - Industrial

We're already looking forward to some of these students joining our team this upcoming summer!

For many working parents, finding childcare is a struggle. Recently, we had the chance to be part of an impactful project that is making a dent in the childcare desert in southeastern Kansas. Read how our team provided engineering services for a new childcare center in an area that lacks much-needed childcare resources.

MKEC provided engineering services for a new 20,000 square-feet childcare center that will provide childcare for up to 200 children.

The Orpheum has never looked better at 104 years old! We are so proud to have partnered with such a dedicated team to fully restore the Wichita Orpheum Theatre. Here’s to the next century of memories for our community! Great work by everyone involved.

There’s something special about being part of a place that has meant so much to so many people for generations.

An afternoon of pickleball was a fun way to wrap up the summer internships for some of our hard-working interns. We're so thankful for their contributions to our team this summer and will miss them as they head back to school.

Our team had a fantastic time helping out in the Simply Hygiene warehouse for an afternoon recently. Many of our interns and their mentors worked side by side to package hygiene items in preparation for an upcoming distribution day. Did you know that Simply Hygiene currently gives hygiene access to over 105,000 individuals each month? Pretty neat!
