Last month, we were honored to receive multiple awards from the Associated General Contractors of Kansas, Inc. We’re proud to share that Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church earned the AGC Judges Choice Runner Up, second in the state.
This project followed a devastating fire caused by a lightning strike in 2022 that destroyed much of the historic church, originally built in the early 1870s. Our team worked closely with the owner and design partners to preserve and reincorporate meaningful elements such as stained glass windows, marble altars, statues, and the Stations of the Cross, blending history with new construction.
Guided by our mission of building spaces that increase the value of life, this project reflects more than construction. It represents restoration, resilience, and community. Through strong collaboration and innovative building methods, including prefabricated light gauge metal framing, the team successfully recreated the beauty of the original structure while improving efficiency, safety, and long term performance. The project was completed on time, under budget, and with zero recordable accidents.
Most importantly, this project restored a meaningful place of worship for the Fort Scott community, honoring its past while building for future generations.
