When Your T-Stats Go Blank, Check the Drain Line! 🚨
Ever notice your T-stats (thermostats) going blank and wonder what happened?
A common cause—especially with certain HVAC systems—is a clogged condensate drain line. When the drain backs up, the float safety switch can shut the system down to help prevent water damage. That can make the thermostat appear completely dead.
💡 What to look for:
• Thermostat suddenly goes blank
• AC stops running
• Water around the indoor unit or drain pan
• Drain line backing up or overflowing
If your thermostat is blank, don’t automatically assume the thermostat itself is bad. Check the condensate drain and safety switch first.
