While still living in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles (2000), my wife and I flipped this adorable cottage near the Radford CBS Studios (Seinfeld, Mary Tyler Moore, Gilligans Island, Will & Grace, That 70s Show, NY and Central Park backlots and much more) in the coveted Colfax district. At the time, we set the highest comp $428,000, to our neighborhood bewilderment. This house was recently sold for 1.6 million...nearly four times more than our original "high" sales price! The house remains basically untouched from the way we redesigned it, kitchens, baths, millwork - with the exception, they added a funny kitchen island and perhaps paint.
This was a tiny house with only one bathroom, shared by two bedrooms. Sophia came up with the idea to turn a large hall closet into a second bathroom, and redesigned the floor plan so that the existing bathroom would become a primary bathroom, creating a primary suite! This small change made an incredible difference in the life of this California cottage.
