We are looking for a detail-oriented researcher who thrives on "the thrill of the hunt" and possesses the investigative skills to solve complicated heirship puzzles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Heirship Research: Utilize specialized online databases, public records, and genealogical websites to identify and locate heirs of deceased mineral owners.
• Document Acquisition: Coordinate with courthouses and records offices nationwide to obtain vital records, including wills, death certificates, and probate filings.
• Title Curative: Draft and prepare Affidavits of Heirship to bring record mineral titles into current standing.
• Project Management: Simultaneously manage multiple heirship projects, ensuring all data is organized and deadlines are met.
• Collaboration: Provide detailed research briefings to the abstracting team to facilitate seamless title transitions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven Experience: Background as a Genealogist or Title Abstractor is required; specific experience within the Oil & Gas industry is highly preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Office (MS Excel is essential; MS Visio experience for creating family trees is a major plus).
• Investigative Mindset: Exceptional online research capabilities and the ability to navigate various public record repositories.
• Organizational Excellence: Strong time-management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Precision: High level of attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
