We haven’t posted in a while. This time of year if we’re not in the shop chasing the next dollar. We’re in the woods chasing whitetail deer!

Here’s a job we finished few weeks back for a local contractor. They wanted a spool holder that had capability to swivel. So when installing gas line with a vibratory plow they could pull line from either side of the trailer. Base was 3” sch 80 pipe and 1” plate stabilizers welded to 1/2” plate that was weld to the trailer as well and bolted and plated on the underside of the trailer and welded. To ensure strength and stability. Top was constructed of 2x6 rect tube and 2-1/2 sch 80 inner pipe. With an oil impregnated bronze bushing to allow smooth operation and maintenance free longevity. Some spring loaded pins to help lock in 4 different positions. And some more spring loaded pins with a swing tab to help with loading and unloading the rolls of gas line. I’ll post some videos of operation in another post because facebook is being stupid and won’t let us post videos and pictures. 🤷🏻‍♂️🙄

Just finished up this memorial cross today. We were asked if we would make this to place next to the headstone of a young teen who passed away some years back. We were honored and glad to do this one on the house for them! I hope it can help immortalize this young man in someway and bring a smile to family members faces each time they see it. 🫶🏻

It’s sad the world we live in today. A world that can push a young man to take his own life. You never know what someone is dealing with. What demons they are battling. So I ask everyone who sees this to do something nice or even just be kind to someone. To a complete stranger! It doesn’t cost a dime to be kind! You never know what type of impact you could make on their day!

Quick little top tube trailer repair we knocked out over the weekend. We mitered the corners and capped the ends to keep from having water entrapment. whiched caused the original issue. Poor factory design. Painted and delivered back to the customer who is a close neighbor. We always enjoy helping out people in our lake community.

Repair done last week. Customer had an 8000lb tow behind air compressor that one of their renters jack knifed and bent the tongue in multiple places. We cut out the bent segments and torched off the pintle bracket and jack plate gussets to reuse. Cleaned everything up and installed new channel. Welded new channel to existing frame and pintle bracket with multi pass vertical full pen welds. As well as top and bottom of the jack plate and multiple welds inside the nose where the jack is. Covered the rear joints with 4 diamond splice plates. Plates were welded 2 pass (root and a hot) and then everything cleaned up with flap wheel. Reinstalled jack, all hardware, and wiring. Customer will paint to finish.

Little case repair in the shop today. Had to cut out the old leaking repair patch. The weld from the patch spanned both cases and wouldn’t allow for them to ever be separated in the future. I used a temporary plug to keep debris out while cleaning up the weld surface. We ditched the patch material and plug welded the hole. Unfortunately there was some heat warp in the case from previous repair. So I used a couple smears to fill the gap and heavy bead of YamaBond to seal the cases until they can be separated and repaired properly.
