It can be the bedroom, upstairs room, office, or even the nursery.

Your A/C Is Trying to Breathe Through THAT?”

Here's a simple way to think about your air filter.

Imagine putting a clean piece of fabric over your mouth and breathing.

Pretty easy.
Now imagine that same material covered with months of dust, pet hair and debris.

You'd have to work harder to move the same amount of air.

Your HVAC system deals with something similar.

A dirty filter can reduce airflow and make the system work harder—especially during our Texas summer when it's already working overtime.
And here's the part people sometimes miss:

Going to the opposite extreme with a highly restrictive filter isn't automatically better either.

“The higher the MERV rating, the better the filter is for my A/C.”

❌ MYTH — at least as a blanket rule.
Higher-MERV filters can capture smaller particles, but filtration isn't the only thing that matters.

Your system still needs to move air.✅️

The right choice depends on things like the filter design and size, your equipment, ductwork and what the system can handle without excessive pressure drop.

That's why we prefer this rule:
Don't chase the biggest number.✅️
Find the right balance for your home.✅️
