Another successful partnership with New Castle County Parks! Eastern States was proud to be on hand for the ribbon cutting and grand reopening of Bechtel Park.

Selected by New Castle County for this modernization, the project included a new playground, tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts, along with new fields including a soccer field. Representing Eastern States at the event were John Czerwinski, Bob Mitchum, and Matt Green, who joined Mike Clendaniel and Kendall Somers from the project team at New Castle County, along with other county officials, to celebrate this exciting milestone.

We’re thrilled with how the project turned out and grateful to have been part of bringing this upgraded community space to life!

Fresh Iron Friday: Eastern States recently took delivery of a new 950 wheel loader from Foley, Inc - Caterpillar Dealer. After a week of getting it dialed in at the shop and adding our finishing touches, it’s now heading out to support our sewer crews on the Lantana Phase 2 Sewer Realignment in Hockessin, Delaware!

We had an incredible time supporting NAWIC Chapter #96 and their construction program for students in grades 1–6! 🏗️

While the kids waited for their turn to compete, they stayed busy at our activity tables creating construction scenes with equipment stickers and operating remote-control dozers, dump trucks, and excavators in our sandbox.

During the competition, students used building blocks and provided materials to design and construct their own industry-inspired projects, then presented them to judges from the local construction community. It’s always inspiring to see the creativity and excitement these young builders bring to the table.

We’re proud to support events that introduce the next generation to the world of construction!

Huge shoutout to our hardworking crews for their continued storm cleanup efforts! The snow may have ended Sunday, but the work hasn’t stopped. Our teams have been out since 4:00 AM Sunday morning, clearing and relocating snow with over 1,000 loads moved to date. With that much accumulation, we even brought in a dozer to push it off!

Block Kids Competition - Hosted by National Association of Women in Construction Chapter #96 | Wilmington, DE

Calling all students in Grades 1–6 to participate in a FREE hands-on building competition focused on creativity and problem-solving in the construction industry.

Students will design and build a construction-inspired project using provided materials and present their work to local construction professionals. Prizes will be awarded to overall and grade-level winners.

This role is perfect for someone who prefers working outdoors, enjoys hands-on mechanical work, and takes pride in keeping heavy equipment running smoothly. You’ll travel to job sites performing preventive maintenance and routine repairs on construction equipment, including oil and filter changes, hydraulic hose replacements, and bucket maintenance.

We’re seeking candidates with at least one year of related experience, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and the ability to work independently in the field. This position offers a clear career path toward becoming a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
