🚨 Technology doesn't prove itself in a brochure. It proves itself in the field.

We're excited to participate in CONVERGENT 2026, a first-of-its-kind operational technology integration exercise hosted by United States Bomb Technician Association (USBTA) that brings together bomb technicians, military EOD personnel, HazMat teams, CBRN specialists, government partners, and industry to evaluate technology where it matters most: in realistic operational environments.

At Fort Knox, Rigaku Analytical Devices will be showcasing our Icon-X + Vector proximal standoff Raman capability, giving operators the opportunity to evaluate how rapid chemical identification can support safer and more effective response operations.

By enabling chemical identification from a distance, the system helps reduce unnecessary approaches to unknown hazards while providing actionable intelligence to support decision-making in the field. The capability can also be integrated with robotic platforms, creating new possibilities for remote operations and multi-hazard response.

SEECAT 2026 Recap

From advanced detection technologies to the growing integration of UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicles), SEECAT once again highlighted the innovations shaping the future of security, public safety, and counter-terrorism operations. As Japan's only exhibition dedicated exclusively to counter-terrorism solutions, the event brings together government agencies, law enforcement, and industry leaders to address evolving security challenges.

One trend that stood out was the increasing role of UGV integration in security and response operations. By combining robotic platforms with advanced detection technologies, organizations are enhancing situational awareness while helping keep personnel out of harm's way.

Recent reports of suspicious letters containing unidentified substances sent to government offices across the country highlight a challenge HazMat teams face: identifying an unknown material while minimizing unnecessary exposure.

When responders encounter a suspicious powder, appearance alone cannot determine its identity or potential hazards.

Handheld Raman technology can help trained personnel identify many chemical substances in the field, sometimes through transparent or translucent packaging, reducing the need to open containers or handle samples directly.
