⚠️ WEEKEND CLOSURE ALERT!
I-95 northbound will be closed from 9PM, October 27 to 5 AM Friday, October 28 between the I-495 split and Exit 8, US 202 Interchange, and then for the entire weekend beginning at 9PM Friday, October 28 through 5AM Monday, October 31 between the I-495 split and Exit 8, US 202 Interchange.

⚠️ Not to be left out of the fun this weekend, I-95 southbound will close at 10PM on Saturday, October 29 until 6:00AM Sunday, October 30 at Exit 6 with all traffic detoured to MLK Boulevard. The 2nd Street on ramp to I-95 southbound will also be closed during this time for the work to remove an overhead sign structure at the south end of the project.

👻 Get in the spirit and give fellow motorists a scare with the I-95 construction costume this Halloween! Celebrate the nearly completed I-95 project with this orange barrel and detour sign that have been common sights on I-95 since February 2021!

🎃 What is not a trick but a treat is that all I-95 northbound lanes will be open as of Monday!

⚠️ : Drainage and paving work near Exits 7A/SR 52 and Exit 8/US 202 interchange will require closures of Exit 7A/SR 52 south and the weekend closure of I-95 Southbound through Wilmington.

Motorists coming from Pennsylvania will be directed to use I-495 Southbound. Local traffic entering I-95 SB will be detoured off at Exit 8/US 202, and directed to SB 141 back to I-95 SB.

⚠️ DelDOT Traffic Alert - The warning period for the Electronic Speed Safety Program in the I-95 construction zone in Wilmington ends on Sunday, April 17, 2022. Beginning Monday, April 18, 2022, first-time offenders will receive a warning and all subsequent violations will result in a violation notice. Registered vehicle owners will receive a base violation of $20.00 and an additional amount is added for each mile per hour over the posted work zone speed limit in accordance with Del. C. §4169(c).

The goal of the pilot program is to reduce work zone speeds and crashes, change driver behavior, and improve work zone safety for workers and motorists. In 2021, there were 423 crashes in the I-95 work zone in Delaware, an increase of 49 percent in the same area from 2019.

🚗💨❌ To date, more than 24,000 warnings have been issued, and there has been a 10 percent reduction in speeds through the work zone since the program began.

❄️⚠️ Level 2 Driving Restriction for Kent and Sussex counties, and a Level 1 Driving Warning for New Castle County, beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28.

❌ The Level 2 Driving Restriction (Kent and Sussex counties) means that no person may operate a motor vehicle on Delaware roadways, except for persons designated as “essential personnel.” Travel on roadways is restricted to certain state employees, emergency workers, first responders, health care workers, utility workers, snow removal operators, private sector food and fuel deliveries, and individuals already approved through DEMA’s State of Emergency Driving Waiver program.

⚠️ The Level 1 Driving Warning (New Castle County) means Delawareans should avoid traveling on roadways, unless there is a significant safety, health, or business reason to do so. All motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution.
