Service to others is at the heart of what we do.

Last Friday, the McKinley team swapped our usual job sites for a day with Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity in Wilmington. From framing walls to laying foundations, every nail driven gets a family one step closer to homeownership.

Giving back to the community where we live and build is at the core of who we are. We are so proud of our crew for showing up, doing the work, and strengthening our community together.

Our team had a fantastic time at East Carolina University’s Career Fair meeting bright, talented students eager to build their careers in construction management and engineering.

We are proud to partner with Swell Vision Center on their new 7,500 SF high-end clinic and optical showroom in Leland, NC.

This five-month upfit located in Brunswick Forest blends comprehensive medical care with a luxury retail experience. The first floor features a modern optical showroom and bar, advanced exam rooms, pre-test suites, an on-site lab, and administrative spaces, complemented by additional space on the second floor. Distinct architectural features include custom wood slat walls and ceilings, polished concrete, interior glass storefronts, and custom casework throughout.

We look forward to bringing this vision to life!

We’re excited to be underway on a design-build renovation for Baker Roofing Company's Wilmington office.

The project will transform and reconfigure Baker’s existing office space to better support their team, with new private and open office areas, conference and training spaces, a break room, and dedicated operations and field-support areas.

Baker works alongside many talented contractors throughout our region, which makes their trust in McKinley especially meaningful to our team. We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with them on a project that will help support their people and continued growth in Wilmington.

Thank you to Baker Roofing Company and our design partner, Hipp Architecture & Development, PC, for the collaboration. We look forward to bringing the new space to life.

We were proud to attend Coastal Horizons’ 56th annual meeting and spend time supporting an organization that makes such an important difference in our community.

As a client and community partner, Coastal Horizons – which provides vital crisis intervention, behavioral healthcare, and family support services – is an organization we’re grateful to work alongside. It was inspiring to hear more about their impact, celebrate the work of their team, and see the commitment they continue to make to our local community, and countless communities across NC.

McKinley’s own Andrew Cooke, VP of Business Development, recently stepped into the workshop at Kids Making It to lead a financial literacy class for their after-school program.

By teaching young people how to budget, save, and manage their earnings, we’re helping build a foundation that turns creative talent into lifelong success.

Kids Making It is an incredible nonprofit empowering youth through vocational woodworking, entrepreneurial training, and essential life skills, and McKinley is incredibly proud to support their mission!

Framing is officially underway at SOPO Social in Southport!

Positioned right on the main drive, this 4,200-square-foot destination brings together a ground-level café, retail, and dining space with an upstairs bar. Built specifically for live entertainment, the structure features custom acoustic engineering for indoor and outdoor performances, complemented by exterior food truck hookups to serve the downtown pedestrian crowd.

Watch the progress unfold as construction moves toward a February 2027 completion.
