Custom steel planter box knocked out for a client in Wimberley.

This planter box was custom fabricated to sit on top of a rock shelf on our clients back patio. The box is made of 1/4” corten steel and 1/8” thick 2” square tubing.

We anchored this planter box to the clients existing slab and installed custom legs to level the box on the boulders uneven surface ensuring stability.

Corten steel, (also known as weathering steel) is a steel compound made up of copper, chromium, and nickel alloys. This compound creates a patina on the outer surface of the steel that prevents the steel from rusting all the way through. Which makes it the perfect material for exterior planter boxes and retaining walls!

Steel and cedar ranch-style fence completed in Wimberley, Tx.

Keen Development Group called us out looking for a solution to stabilize an old leaning cedar fence on their property that had become a liability due to the proximity of neighboring structures, and had also become a bit of an eyesore.

They were also looking to fully replace a separate barbed wire fence with a new steel and cedar fence to match.

Our solution was to build a new steel fence to support the existing cedar fence. 1 1/4” square tubing was welded to 2 3/8” steel posts to optimize the structural integrity of the fence. Steel braces were also set to ensure that the fence would stand tall and proud for many years to come.

The new fence was built with the same process, but with brand new freshly cut cedar staves. Each cedar stave individually secured by hand.

This steel and cedar ranch-style fence is coming along nicely. Some finishing touches being done this week and this one is in the books.

These fences are a great option for creating privacy and maintaining a solid structural integrity, while still embodying that rustic look that so well compliments our beautiful Texas Hill Country area.
