llis Clack opened a small water softener exchange business in Madison, Wisconsin. Clack Soft Water eventually grew into a small Wisconsin dealer network featuring the Golden Seahorse brand. By the end of the 60’s, the company evolved to include manufacturing and distribution being at the forefront of many innovations in the industry before participating in joint ventures with Erie Controls and Structural Fibers, both Belgian companies in the 70’s. Richard Clack who joined the company in 1970 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin was responsible for the growth of the blow molding components division creating a complete line of brine tanks that allowed the Clack Corporation to consolidate components to OEMs in a very competitive package, reducing customer inventory and increasing product turns. The 1980’s saw conversions from brass parts to engineered plastics while Clack introduced the Microline RO system using a patented proprietary designed manifold plate. In 1987, after the passing of his father, Richard Clack took the helms of the company and continued to grow plastic custom blow molding as well as greatly improving the distribution of water treatment components to customers worldwide. The Clack Corporation kept introducing pioneering designs with 1 inch engineered plastic control valve in 2000 and a line of residential and commercial control valves up to 3 inch service flow in subsequent years.
