One of our favorite ways to show appreciation is by creating small moments for our team throughout the year.

This month, that meant Subway lunch boxes for all AWI employees. It may be a simple gesture, but it’s one more way we can say thank you to the people behind the work we do every day.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Tom Smith🌟

Meet Tom, our Laser Production Supervisor! Tom has been part of the AWI team for a year, and during that time, has become a valuable part our our shop operations.

Originally from Healdsburg, CA, Tom brings a passion for metal work, both on and off the clock. Outside of work, he enjoys rebuilding cars, restoring antiques, and creating art out of metal. He also loves spending time with his wife and kids, riding his motorcycle long distance, and driving around in his hotrod truck.

When asked what he loves most about his job, Tom said it’s the culture. Since starting at AWI, he said it has felt like home every day, thanks to the positive environment and the people who genuinely love what they do.

We’re grateful to have Tom on the AWI team!

It’s National Paper Airplane Day – and at AWI, that means one thing: our annual paper airplane throwing contest!✈️

A little friendly competition is always a fun way to bring some extra excitement to the shop, connect as a team, and enjoy a few laughs along the way.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

In observance of Memorial Day, AWI will be closed. We will resume our normal business hours tomorrow.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful day of remembrance.

Safety is a top priority at AWI.

We support that commitment with a dedicated Safety Committee that meets regularly to review practices and reinforce expectations across our facility. In addition, we partner with an outside safety representative who conducts monthly walkthroughs and provides expert guidance.

Accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement are key to maintaining a strong safety culture — and we take that responsibility seriously.
