The New Atlantic team welcomed staff from Wake Technical Community College to our NC Department of Administration CHW/HPS Infrastructure Chiller Plant Package project.


The visit started with lunch, giving everyone a chance to connect, followed by a presentation on the plant’s systems and design, and a guided tour of the facility.

Projects like this represent a significant investment in the state’s central utility infrastructure, and we always appreciate the opportunity to share our work with others in the industry. Thank you to the Wake Tech team for a great visit and conversation!

New Atlantic is honored to have received the 2026 CPN Star Award in the Projects Under $10 Million category for the Augsburg Lutheran Church Campus Renewal project, located at 845 W. 5th Street in Winston-Salem, NC. The award was presented at the CPN of NC Annual Conference in Isle of Palms.

This comprehensive, multi-phase modernization and restoration project encompassed approximately 32,000 square feet of interior renovation and 1.1 acres of exterior improvements across portions of the campus originally constructed in 1927, 1955, and 2000. Key project components included full restoration of the historic Sanctuary, revitalization of youth and community ministry spaces, extensive stone facade repair and preservation, site circulation improvements, and full ADA accessibility upgrades.

None of this would have been possible without our partners at Michael Graves Design, SKA Consulting Engineers, Inc., WxTite, Russ Bell with Marsh McClellan, Richard Connor with Conner Gwyn Schneck Attorneys, and everyone else who played a role in making this project a success.

In a joint effort between New Atlantic and Meridian Waste, and with the support of our presenting sponsor MSJ Glass and Glazing, Inc., we were proud to raise $7,100 in support of the teachers at Wake County Public School System’s Fuquay‑Varina Elementary School. Each teacher received more than $100 in school supplies, gift cards, and back‑to‑school goodies to help kick off the new school year.

This project has been especially meaningful as Phase 1 included the remodel of the existing building, while Phase 2 will bring a brand‑new structure to the campus. Teachers were excited to receive their supplies and equally eager to soon return to their longtime home.

We were honored to be joined by Dr. Ashlie Thompson, Southern Area Superintendent, who helped celebrate our educators and recognize the incredible impact they make every day.

Thank you to the teachers in our community who work tirelessly to educate and inspire our children, and to the partners who helped make this effort such a success.

We believe safety is reinforced through daily practice in the field, rather than just a policy on paper. That’s why we invited SafeSite Solutions to visit our active job sites each day during Construction Safety Week to lead safety stand-downs across our projects.

Crews participated in morning toolbox talks, safety discussions, walkthroughs, and inspections focused on hazard awareness, communication, and safe work practices onsite. 🚧👷
