To our friends and family. We will be expecting record setting temperatures these next few days. Here is a few tips to keep you and your home comfortable.

1 - Check your filter and make sure it’s clean.
2- Minimize in and out traffic of your home, heat gain rises when doors are constantly opened. Keep garage doors closed.
3- Set your desired temperature a day or two in advanced and maintain that temperature. Bypass or shut off any schedules while the heat wave is here.
4- Make sure your condenser is free of obstruction or debris. If it’s got a bunch of pollen or debris. Wash it down before weather conditions change.
5 - Expect your desired temperature to not be reached. Example desired set temp is 70, home temperature is 75. That’s ok. Unless your hvac equipment is severally oversized you may see temperature higher than desired. It’s ok, not an emergency.

6- Close blinds to block heat from sun. Minimize the use of heat using appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines late in the day.

7- Stay safe, hydrated and away from direct sunlight exposure for long periods of times.

Today we say goodbye to our beloved Carol Schmidlin. She was our secretary at Chappell Heating and Air for almost 30 years but so much more. When needed she also acted a friend, mother and grandmother to our family and the only person that Rufus never tried to bite! For the last few years she continued https://www.hayworth-miller.com/obituaries/carol-palermo-schmidlin work from home but speaking with Keith each day to provide humor, wisdom and an occasional kick in the pants! She will be sorely missed. We love you more than we can express here.
