Need to clear roots, brush, and debris? Grab a rake. 🌳🚜

This 3' excavator rake was built with a Wain-Roy-style hookup for a Wain-Roy quick coupler. 🔩

The open tine design lets soil fall through while roots, brush, rocks, and other debris stay in the rake, making it a great fit for land clearing, site cleanup, root removal, ditch cleanup, and sorting material. 🌱🪨

It gives you a simple way to pull, collect, and separate unwanted material without hauling a bunch of good soil along with it. 👌

Need a rake built for your excavator and coupler? Send us your machine model and hookup style. 📩 We'll help you get the right configuration.

11 feet of cleanup power, headed to a Komatsu D51. 🌲💪

This heavy-duty 11' root rake for a Komatsu D51 is strapped down across two pallets with the packing slip in place, and everything accounted for before it heads to its new operator. 📦⚙️

A root rake can be a game changer when a dozer is being used for land clearing, site preparation, brush removal, or debris cleanup. The open tine design allows soil and smaller material to work through while helping collect roots, branches, stumps, and larger debris that you don't want left behind. 🌳

For clearing jobs, that means you can separate what needs to stay from what needs to go instead of simply pushing everything into one pile. It can also help with windrowing material, preparing ground for grading, and cleaning up after trees and brush have been removed. 🚜

And at 11 feet wide, this particular rake gives the D51 plenty of coverage while putting a serious amount of clearing capability in front of the machine. Now it's up to the Komatsu to put it through its paces. 👊

If your dozer could use a root rake for clearing, cleanup, or site preparation, give us a call or send us a message. 📞📩 Tell us your machine model and what you're clearing, and we'll help you figure out the right setup.

There's a lot more to a hydraulic thumb than what meets the eye. ⚙️💪

This hydraulic thumb is at the final weighing and measuring stage before making its way to its new owner. Strapped down on the pallet, we're getting the final shipping dimensions and weight documented so everything is accounted for before it heads out. 📦📏

A hydraulic thumb can add a whole new level of control to an excavator or backhoe—whether you're grabbing brush 🌲, handling logs, moving debris, or sorting awkward material that a bucket alone can't easily manage.

We build a variety of thumbs to suit different machines and applications, including hydraulic and manual options, with configurations designed around the equipment they're going on.

If you've been considering adding a thumb to your machine, take a look at www.eastattachments.com to see what we offer, or reach out directly. Sometimes the quickest way to find the right setup is simply to tell us what machine you're running and what kind of work you're doing.

📞 Give us a call or 📩 send us a message and let's talk about your attachment.

If you've been thinking about adding a hydraulic thumb to your backhoe, there's one question worth asking first: do you really want to weld it on? 👀⚙️

This pin-on hydraulic thumb for a CAT430E is finished in black and is a great example of an option that gives operators more flexibility than a traditional weld-on setup. 🖤

A weld-on thumb can be an excellent choice when you want a permanent attachment, but a pin-on hydraulic thumb brings some advantages of its own:

🔩 Easier installation and removal — The thumb can be taken off when you don't need it without cutting or grinding it away from the machine.

⚙️ Less permanent modification — You're adding capability without permanently welding the attachment to your backhoe.

🔄 More flexibility down the road — If your work changes or you eventually sell the machine, a pin-on setup can be easier to remove or transfer.

💪 Hydraulic control — Instead of manually positioning the thumb, the operator can control it from the cab, making it much easier to grab, hold, sort, and position material.

For clearing brush 🌲, handling logs, moving debris, sorting material, or simply getting a better grip on awkward loads, a hydraulic thumb can turn your backhoe into a much more versatile machine.

And honestly, the right setup depends on your machine and the work you're doing. That's where we'd rather have a conversation than simply tell you what to buy.

Have a CAT430E, another backhoe, or an excavator you're considering adding a thumb to? Send us a message with your machine model and what you're using it for. We'll be happy to talk through your options and help you figure out what makes the most sense. 📩

Or, if you'd rather talk it over, give us a call. 📞

A small upgrade that can completely change what your machine is capable of. ⚙️💪

This pin-on thumb for a CAT430E backhoe is nearing completion. The thumb hand has been fully fabricated, finished in a durable black coating, and fitted with its custom pin sitting perfectly inside the bushings. The only thing left before it heads to its new owner is the installation of the hydraulic components. 🖤🔩

A pin-on hydraulic thumb can be an excellent option for operators looking to add more versatility without permanently altering their machine. Compared to a traditional weld-on hydraulic thumb, a pin-on design allows for a cleaner installation, easier removal when needed, and added flexibility for operators who may want to change their setup in the future. 🚜

From handling logs and brush 🌲 to moving rocks, debris, or other materials 🪨, a properly matched thumb gives your backhoe more control, better grip, and the ability to take on jobs that would otherwise require additional equipment.

The right attachment doesn't just add another function—it changes the way you can use your machine. Once you experience the control and versatility of a hydraulic thumb, it quickly becomes one of those upgrades you wonder how you worked without. ⚙️

Have a backhoe or excavator that could benefit from a hydraulic thumb? Give us a call or send us a message—we'd be happy to help you find the right setup for your machine. 📞📩

A small detail that adds a lot of value. ⚙️🟡

This CAT307.5 ditching bucket is finished in Caterpillar yellow, equipped with a bolt-on cutting edge, and secured on a pallet ready for its next destination. 🚜📦

Adding a bolt-on cutting edge to a ditching bucket provides several advantages in the field. It adds an extra layer of protection to the leading edge of the bucket, helps extend the service life of the attachment, and allows the cutting edge to be replaced when needed instead of requiring repairs or modifications to the bucket itself. 🔩💪

For operators who spend their time grading, shaping, cleaning ditches, or working in abrasive conditions, small upgrades like this can make a big difference in keeping equipment productive and reducing downtime.

Every attachment that leaves our shop represents a combination of careful fabrication, customer specifications, and attention to the details that matter when the equipment reaches the jobsite. We're proud to build solutions that help operators get more from their machines. 🖤

Designed around the job before the first cut of steel. ⚙️🔥

This custom trapezoid bucket for a CAT320 started with a very specific goal—to create an attachment capable of handling tough virgin clay conditions in Virginia. To meet the needs of the project, the bucket was built with a specialized slope per the customer's request, along with 4 teeth designed around the digging application it was intended for.

The raw steel photo shows the beginning of the process, where the shape, slope, and structure come together before the finishing touches are added. Once fabrication was complete, the bucket received serrated bolt-on side cutters and a full coat of CAT yellow paint before being prepared for its trip to the customer.

Every job presents its own challenges, and sometimes the right solution requires something beyond a standard attachment. This CAT320 trapezoid bucket is a great example of how a specific need can be turned into a purpose-built tool.

Now it’s ready to make its way to Virginia and get to work on the conditions it was designed for. 🚜💪

Raw steel. Real craftsmanship. ⚙️

These two CAT308 digging buckets are well on their way to becoming finished attachments. The teeth are installed, the hookup ears have taken shape, and with the hard work behind them, they're now waiting on the final touches before heading to the paint booth. 💪🔥

This stage of the build is where the craftsmanship really stands out. Before the paint ever goes on, every weld, every fit-up, and every detail has already been carefully completed to ensure the attachment is built to perform for years to come.

We enjoy sharing projects at this point because it gives a behind-the-scenes look at the work that goes into every attachment—not just the finished product. It's a process we're proud of, and one we never rush.

Same shop. Same quality. Two completely different solutions. 💪

These two custom thumbs for mini excavators are finished, palletized, and ready for their next chapter. One is a larger weld-on hydraulic thumb, giving the operator greater control and flexibility when handling logs, brush, rocks, and other material. The other is a weld-on manual thumb, offering a simple, dependable solution that's built to get the job done with minimal maintenance. 💪🚜

One of the things we enjoy most about custom fabrication is that every customer has a different way of working. Some prefer the convenience of a hydraulic thumb, while others appreciate the straightforward reliability of a manual setup. Our goal is always the same—build an attachment that fits the machine and the person operating it.

From the first cut of steel to the final coat of paint, every build receives the same attention to detail before it leaves our shop. Seeing another pair of custom attachments completed is always a reminder of why we enjoy doing what we do.

Thinking about adding a thumb to your mini excavator? Give us a call or send us a message—we'd be happy to help you choose the setup that's right for your machine and the work you do. 📞📩
