Today isn't about the pool, the start of summer, cookouts, or even air conditioning. It’s about the men and women who gave everything before us — people who never got the chance to come home, grow old, raise families, or live the lives we so easily wake up to each day.
Every freedom we enjoy was paid for by someone willing to sacrifice theirs.
Today, we remember them.
We honor them.
And we recognize that without their courage and sacrifice, none of the rest of this would matter at all.
Thank you to those who took the fall so we can stand.
