While the new OB unit at Maine Coast Hospital and Women's Health in the Sussman Building at Blue Hill Hospital are wrapping up, the race against winter to close-in the replacement hospital in Blue Hill continues as well!

The new hospital is expected to open in the summer of 2023. WBRC Inc. is the project architect and JF Scott is the general contractor.

Phase one major demolition is wrapping up at Blue Hill Hospital, while phase one build-back has just begun at Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth.
Work at Blue Hill includes complete replacement of Blue Hill Hospital (while maintaining services in 2/3 of the existing hospital during construction), with completion of phase 2 demo & construction following occupancy of the new hospital.
Work at Maine Coast Hospital includes a multi-phased interior renovation creating a new OB unit, updated inpatient & skilled nursing rooms, and a major HVAC replacement for a large portion of the building.
The two campuses combine as a single $26 Million project (construction cost).
