Alta X is being used for emergency response and medical delivery in Ukrainian. The drone is equipped with Draganfly’s temperature-managed Medical Response Payload Box, which can transport up to 35 pounds of medical supplies, including blood, pharmaceuticals, insulin/medicines, vaccines, water, and wound care kits.

"If small, unmanned aircraft could be made smarter and more independent, they could help firefighters and other responders do even more in the wake of natural disasters. In December 2021, NASA’s Scalable Traffic Management for Emergency Response Operations activity, or STEReO, ran early flight tests of technology the team is developing, at NASA’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley.

Data collected during the flights will help “teach” unmanned aircraft systems – also called UAS or drones – how to understand their surroundings and navigate the world. This could be a real benefit for emergency response; if UAS could fly and land safely beyond their pilot’s view, they could carry out certain tasks on their own, like visually identifying, then mapping, a wildfire perimeter"

Draganfly Inc is putting the Freefly Systems Alta X to work with their top mounted insulated delivery box. The Alta X is a perfect platform for this type of application because of its high payload capacity, efficient propulsion system, and ease of deployment. Recently Draganfly announced they are deploying the Alta X in Ukraine with RSU, a non-profit organization, to help deliver medical supplies.

One of our favorite integrations with the Alta X is from Drone Amplified. Their aerial ignition payload helps land management of forest fire fighters in their battle. They can put fire lines where they need faster and safer than other before by keeping the operator out of harms way. Drone Amplified and Freelfy Systems, two American UAV companies that are pushing the limits of what uncrewed aviation can do.
