My grandfather was a mason, four (4) uncles were masons and several cousins were masons. I began working with one of my uncles and a cousin just out of high school in 1973. I learned quickly the strong work ethics which are ingrained within me even today. That is: work hard, be honest and do top-quality work, striving to be the very best you can be. d the opportunity to begin as an apprentice brick layer. My cousin took me under his wing and taught me all the basic skills involved in all types of masonry work. Working on both commercial and residential jobs, I have gained a large scope of masonry applications, codes, and requirements. This experience has given me the knowledge to handle any masonry problem that may arise during any job I am working on. Not only have I acquired much knowledge and experience of masonry work, but by working with, and being around all other trade disciplines I have learned to do most basic skills in many other trades, such as, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and roofing. I have used these tools in many of my own personal projects, both residential and commercial. In 1986, I had the opportunity to begin working for myself specializing in landscape-type masonry work. This was somewhat a new learning experience for me. Not only would I be involved in vertical work, such as retaining walls, columns, steps and signs, but I would be doing other work such as patios, walkways, brick mowing edges, and fountains. This specialized masonry work is quite different than other masonry work. It required more patience and imagination, especially in unique brick designs. This diversity of experiences over the past several years had given me the confidence that I can handle any challenge which may be set before me. My objectives as a masonry contractor are quite simple: Offer the homeowner a top quality job that they will be very proud to share with others. Every job I do for a homeowner will be the same quality that I would do for myself at my own home. I know that for a homeowner to be satisfied is to have a job done exactly to their specifications. I make an extra effort to work with the homeowner during the construction process to make the final decision of any changes or options that may occur. I can do a job from a verbal description, from a sketch drawn by the homeowner, or an architect's drawn set of prints. I will give a free estimate on the entire job or just portions of the job. Knowing that most homeowners don't want to be worried with different aspects of the construction project, I take care of all material ordering and delivery, job site gradings, tearing out or pouring footings, construction and job site clean-up. Therefore, the homeowner knows from the beginning exactly what a job will cost with no hidden charges. I am happy to work with the customer to show them any advantages or disadvantages which I may be in a project. I try to be honest, fair, and keep my commitments.
