A variable frequency drive is used for adjusting a flow or pressure to the actual demand. It controls the frequency of the electrical power supplied to a pump or a fan. One of the main advantages of using a VFD is the energy cost savings associated with speed control.
The first and most obvious way a VFD can save you money is through increasing the efficiency of your AC motors and decreasing electricity use. The amount of energy that a VFD can save depends on the average load of the motor and the number of hours per day it is turned on.

No job to large or small for World Energy and here is an example of a measure we recently installed at Plymouth Fitness in Plymouth, MA that some of our competitors might have walked by. It's not just about doing the obvious or big ticket energy savings items items its about finding finding all possible electric and gas saving opportunities. We installed 130' of pipe insulation covering exposed hot water piping in unconditioned space. The result, $286 in annual gas savings for the fitness center.

World Energy flips for energy savings!!!! We recently completed the installation of an energy efficient LED lighting system at Monadnock Gymnastics in Peterborough, NH. The upgrade significantly improved the overall light quality in the gym, offices and locker rooms while saving over $2,800 per year on their electric bill.
