We offer oil tank trays as an added layer of protection for your home. Installed beneath the tank, they are designed to contain oil in the event of a leak — helping reduce the risk of property damage and costly cleanup. It’s a simple safeguard that provides peace of mind, especially for older tanks or a preventative measure for newer tanks.

FACT: Heating oil is not unsafe or highly flammable.

It is very different from gasoline or natural gas. It won’t ignite at room temperature — in fact, it must be heated to about 140°F and vaporized before it can burn. That stability makes it a safe and reliable fuel source for homes and businesses.

Why is your propane tank only filled to 80%?

We promise – it’s not a short fill. Propane is stored and transported as a liquid, and liquid propane expands significantly with quick temperature changes. Tanks are intentionally filled to 80% to allow room for safe expansion and to manage internal pressure.

Outdoor oil tanks are treated with an additive at every delivery to help prevent fuel gelling in colder temperatures. When temperatures drop, heating oil can thicken and form wax crystals, which may restrict oil flow to your heating system. The additive helps maintain proper flow so your system can operate smoothly.

Keep exhaust vents and air intake pipes for your home heating system clear of snow, ice and debris. Blocked vents can cause your system to shut down or operate unsafely, increasing the risk of carbon monoxide exposure. A quick check outside your home can make all the difference.
