Our team recently hosted WPI’s Student Chapter of AGC MA for an in-depth tour of the Residences at Lincoln Square project. Mike (Project Executive), Andrew (CFO), and Logan (Superintendent) guided students through both buildings, showcasing everything from concrete foundations and steel framing to mechanical systems and roofing installations. Students were able to see the renovation work in the former Worcester Boys Club, including what has been done to the old pool and gym, as well as touring the new building and reviewing its Passive House features.

It’s always rewarding to step out of the day-to-day and share what goes into building a project of this scale. These students represent the future of our industry, and we’re proud to contribute to their learning firsthand. Being part of the Worcester community extends beyond our construction work. It means engaging, supporting, and helping shape the next generation of building professionals. Looking forward to more opportunities like this ahead!

“A Day in the Life of a Construction Project Manager in Downtown Worcester”

Managing the Lincoln Square Residences project in downtown Worcester is like playing three-dimensional chess while riding a unicycle…in traffic. My mornings start before the sun rises, because apparently buildings don’t construct themselves while I sleep (I’ve checked).

Daily huddles involve 37 people with 37 different opinions about everything, while I simultaneously oversee that concrete pours and electrical inspections are under control.

Traffic jams turn me into an instant logistics wizard when concrete trucks get stuck on Worcester’s two functioning roads. Meanwhile, we’re attempting to gel the National Park Services desire to honor the architectural integrity of the 1930’s with our state-of-the-art modern building! “Lunch” means inhaling sandwiches while juggling calls about overdue window deliveries.

The real job description? 10% construction knowledge, 30% crisis management, 40% people therapy, and 20% pretending you planned precisely for everything that just went sideways!
But hey, at least I get to wear a hard hat and feel important.

Congratulations to Corey Corriveau on his recent promotion to FOREMAN! Corey’s exceptional work on St. Benedict Classical Academy and the Residences on Lincoln Square with our partners at WinnCompanies did not go unnoticed by Team Madigan. Corey was able to run both the logistics and safety components among multiple subcontractors of these (and many other) jobs with dedication, skill and hard work.

We are excited to see Corey’s continued growth and success in his new role! All the best, Corey!
