Job Summary:
Machinist: operate machine tool, disassemble and repair the machine tool by building such pars as gears, splines, and shafts from scratch using various machines tools such as mills, lathes, grinders, planers etc. Then reassemble the machine tool and operate it. Machinists usually work to very small tolerances, usually within 0.010" or 0.25 mm (more commonly expressed as ±0.010"(Plus or minus ten-thousandths of an inch) or ±0.13 mm), and sometimes at tolerances as low as 0.0001" (plus or minus one tenth of a thousandth of an inch ñ or 0.0025 mm) for specialty operations. A machinist deals with all facets of shaping, cutting and some aspects of forming metal, although forming is typically a separate trade. The operations most commonly performed by machinists are milling, drilling, turning, and grinding. There are other more specialized operations that a machinist will less frequently be called upon to perform such as honing, keyseating, lapping, and polishing, to name a few.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform machinist work on parts supplied by the customer in a timely manner. Perform accurate and quality work that is within the customer's standards and meets the customer-specific quality requirements.
Primary Job Functions:
Knowledge of the operation of equipment and proper use of tooling to be able to machine to tight tolerance parts and equipment for customers. Able to read and fabricate drawings and blueprints of parts produced to provide customers with quality documentation. understand and follow customer requirements pertaining to quality and time schedules. Maintain and upkeep machining equipment, work area, and attitude. Communicate in a manner with customers, clients, and co-workers as to provide collaborative efforts to meet quality and safety objectives. Other duties may be assigned.
Complexity/Decision Making:
Work on job assignments and work orders as directed, and use appropriate action to meet the customer's timeline while still maintaining integrity in quality and safety standards.
Leadership/Teamwork: Must demonstrate a strong ability to work effectively in a team environment at all levels in the organization.
Minimum Requirements:
Machinist shall supply their own small tools such as Measuring Tools (Calipers, Parallels, Rules and Scales, Micrometer and Screw Thread Identifiers and indicators) Hand Tools, Machine Tools, Work Holders, Tool Holders, and Cutting Tools. Able to demonstrate work to very small tolerances, usually within 0.001" and sometimes at tolerances as low as 0.0001" (plus or minus one-tenth of a thousandth of an inch ñ or 0.0025 mm) for specialty operations. Deal with all facets of shaping, cutting, forming metal, milling, drilling, turning, grinding, honing, keyseating, lapping, and polishing.
10+ years of related work experience preferred
Basic computer knowledge(Windows, email, internet, ect)
Physical Requirements:
This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree
Must have the ability to lift 70 pounds from the floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds
Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs
Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending
Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed
This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
