The Cumberland Wood Bank has received a lot of wood this summer. Unfortunately, some people have treated it more like a dump, leaving wood that they would never use if they were buying firewood. We welcome donations of wood but we must inspect it before receiving it. We do not accept softwood, rotten wood, logs over 24 inches in diameter, etc. Please contact us before delivering wood you wish to donate. Call (207) 747-2868.

We are currently closed for receiving wood without prior approval. Unfortunately some have dumped wood they wouldn’t buy or burn if they received the wood.

This Saturday, January 18th, is our Annual Woodbankquet from 5:30-8 at the Congregational Church in Cumberland. We are thankful to Kennebunk Savings and Atlantic Federal Credit Union for sponsoring the dinner we serve to our community, and for Cumberland Crossing by OceanView and Bath Savings Institution for sponsoring our door prizes. The continued support of this community humbles us deeply and makes us proud to run our small volunteer organization in a state where the default is to openly support one another.

Please consider joining us this Saturday to help us continue celebrating this tradition of support. The Woodbankquet is a free family-friendly dinner open to all individuals. Donations are welcomed and encouraged and support operating costs so the Wood Bank can continue to provide heating assistance to families in need.
