Hudbay Mason Project

Hard to believe it’s already been a month since the Lyon County Fair & Rodeo!

Participating in the parade was a true summer highlight for our team. We enjoyed getting creative with our float and showcasing the essential benefits of copper while honoring the region’s rich mining heritage.

Beyond the parade, spending time at the rodeo and fair gave us a fantastic opportunity to connect directly with our neighbors. From answering questions to discussing what lies ahead for our project, we valued every conversation.

Thank you to the organizers and volunteers of the event and to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello. We’re proud to support and grow alongside Lyon County!

Quick Clarification for Our Community

We’ve seen a few reports circulating about recent local property purchases and want to set the record straight.

Please be advised the Hudbay is not purchasing these properties and has no connection to these transactions. We value transparency with our stakeholders and wanted to share the facts directly with you.

Thank you for staying connected with us!

📌 FAQ: Is active mining happening at the Mason Project right now?

No, active mining is not currently underway.

Right now, our team is focused on the pre-feasibility phase. That means we’re doing the essential foundational legwork: conducting environmental modeling, reviewing technical data, and meeting with local community members to listen to feedback. Responsible mining starts long before the first shovel hits the dirt.
