No, active mining is not currently underway.

Right now, our team is focused on the pre-feasibility phase. That means we’re doing the essential foundational legwork: conducting environmental modeling, reviewing technical data, and meeting with local community members to listen to feedback. Responsible mining starts long before the first shovel hits the dirt.

It’s been a busy and rewarding spring for our Mason Project team! We’re looking back at some favorite highlights from the last few weeks around Yerington:

🖼️ Celebrating the new mural at the Yerington Chamber of Commerce–a vibrant new landmark for our town center.
👢 Supporting the Rotary Club’s Annual Boots, Buckles and Bling event and contributing to scholarships for local students.
🩺 Participating in the ribbon-cutting for the re-grand opening of Lahontan Paramedical, which provide services like pre-employment drug/alcohol screenings, physical exams, injury treatment, and urgent care support.
🌿 Partnering with the Walker Basin Conservancy for their outreach event along with Nevada Department of Agriculture and participating in the local America 250 Community Cleanup.

Beyond professional achievements, Hudbay’s Mason Project team consistently gives back through their dedicated service to local community organizations, clubs, youth sports, and educational initiatives.

We’re proud to be an active part of this community and are looking forward to building on this momentum alongside our neighbors!
