What's behind your walls? ⬇

Studs: The vertical pieces of wood or metal that are the backbone for your walls.

Foundation: The lowest load-bearing part of your home that transfers the weight of the house to the ground and keeps everything stable.

Lintel: Ever wonder how windows and doors stay up? Look above them for the lintel, a horizontal beam that supports the weight above the opening.

Load-Bearing Wall: These walls carry the structure of your home and support the weight of the floors and roof above.

Non-Load Bearing Wall: Interior walls that provide separation and flexibility, but don't directly support the weight of the house.
