GREAT MACHINES START WITH GREAT PEOPLE.

We're having an incredible time at PACK EXPO International in Chicago, and we wanted to share a look at the team behind the technology.

These are some of the people who bring JLS automation to life — through engineering, teamwork, problem-solving and a commitment to doing things right.

We're proud of what this team accomplishes together.

And if you're at PACK EXPO, there's still time to stop by, say hello and see the machines running!

A heartfelt thank you to Craig Souser. And a warm welcome to Russ Stroner.

After nearly 50 years of leading JLS Automation, Craig Souser has retired. Since taking the helm in 1978, he has helped grow the company his father founded into a builder of hygienic robotic packaging systems for the food industry.

But a company is more than the equipment it builds. It's the people who come to work every day, the friendships formed along the way, and the customers who become longtime partners. Craig has been part of that story every step of the way.

While he's stepping back from day-to-day leadership, we're happy he'll stay connected to JLS as Chairman Emeritus.

We're also pleased to welcome Russ Stroner as our new President and CEO. With more than 25 years in food-processing equipment and several years on the JLS advisory board, Russ brings industry knowledge and a familiarity with the people and business he'll now lead.

Craig, thank you for everything. Russ, welcome to JLS!

Please join us in congratulating them both.

October gives us two pretty good reasons to fire up the Kestrel™...

National Pork Month and National Sausage Month!

Watch the Kestrel™ turn fast-moving snack sticks into a controlled, organized flow ready for packaging — all with the kind of repeatable performance food producers depend on shift after shift.

Fast is good.
Fast and predictable is better.

Want to see it in person? The Kestrel™ will be running live at PACK EXPO International, October 18–21 in Chicago.

From flooring to tile-work, our team rolled up their sleeves and got to work.

Seven members of the JLS team spent a day on Chestnut Street with York Habitat for Humanity, helping finish floors in the homes going up there.

Here's the part worth knowing: a 2009 fire destroyed 16 row homes on that block. Habitat has been rebuilding it since 2018, and 14 new homes have gone up in their place. Each one takes about 4,000 volunteer hours.

The families who move in take homeownership classes, put in 225 volunteer hours per adult, and buy the house with a 0% mortgage.

Thank you to York Habitat for Humanity for having us out. Supporting our own community matters to us — and this was a good day's work.

Our team had a great night at Art in Residence.

Creative York's annual fall fundraiser took over Investment Real Estate in downtown York, and this year's theme — Studies & Sketches — was about the part of art most people never see: the first marks, the rough draft, the idea before it works.

Artists painted live, start to finish, in 20 minutes. Works came out of private collections. There was an auction, raffles, and a lot of good conversation.

Congratulations to this year's honoree, Rob Evans.

And thank you to Creative York for having us. Everything raised goes back into art classes, scholarships and free programs for people all over York County.

Supporting our local arts community matters to us. York is a better place to live and work because of the people who make things here — and that includes the people making art.

Some things are bigger than business.

This past weekend, members of the JLS Automation team volunteered at the Bridge Building Festival supporting Building Bridges For Brianna, a York County-based nonprofit working to raise awareness of su***de prevention and mental health while connecting individuals and families with support and resources.

The festival brought together community organizations, families and supporters around an important cause.

We're grateful to our team members who showed up, and especially thankful to Building Bridges for Brianna and everyone who helped make the day possible. 💙

Supporting the communities where we live and work matters to us.

The beauty of a cheeseburger is its simplicity. Getting thousands of frozen patties packed and on their way to the grill is anything but.

Happy National Cheeseburger Day! 🍔

The machine in this video is our Patty Hawk, built for the frozen line. It picks up stacks of frozen patties and loads them into cases at more than 1,000 patties a minute — in a cold, wet room where most equipment struggles.

Today we're thinking about the production teams who keep those lines running. Behind every burger on a grill this weekend is a shift that made it happen.

However you're having yours — enjoy it.

Twenty-five years.

Forty lines, one for each passenger and crew member of Flight 93. Each line represents a life. The length, their age.

All of them cut short in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

We remember them.

💜 TODAY: the bloodmobile is parked outside JLS Automation until 3:00 PM.

20 Innovation Drive, York. Open to everyone, not just employees. Walk-ins welcome, no appointment needed. Just bring a photo ID. Takes about an hour, start to finish.

There are still open chairs, and every unit collected today goes to a local hospital. If you're nearby and have a lunch break to spare, this is a good use of it.

Donors leave with a certificate for a free half-dozen from Maple Donuts (hurry, limited quantities). Hosted with Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank.

Know someone in York who could come by this afternoon? Tag them. 💜
