Hydro excavation isn't always the right solution—but when precision matters, it's one of the safest and most effective tools available.

Using high-pressure water and a powerful vacuum system, hydro excavation allows our crews to expose underground utilities and perform sensitive excavation work without the risks associated with traditional mechanical digging. It's an efficient way to locate existing infrastructure, reduce the potential for utility strikes, and minimize disruption to the surrounding area.

Backed by decades of excavation and utility experience, our team knows when hydro excavation provides the greatest value and how to apply it safely and effectively in the field.

With three dedicated Hydro Vac crews, York Excavating Company is equipped to support projects throughout our region with precise, non-destructive excavation solutions.

At York Excavating Company, we know that legacies aren't measured by what you leave behind—they're measured by the people you impact along the way.

That's exactly what makes the Final Steve Smith Sr. Tribute Race so special.

We're proud of YEC team member Brian Leppo and the countless hours he has invested alongside family, sponsors, and supporters to honor the memory of his late father-in-law. What began as a tribute race has grown into a nationally recognized event that will bring drivers and fans together on June 29 at Lincoln Speedway.

The incredible support from the racing community has helped elevate the event to a winner's purse of $50,019, creating a fitting tribute to a man whose impact on sprint car racing continues to be felt today.

Congratulations to Brian and everyone involved in making this event possible.

Mark your calendars for June 29 and join the racing community in celebrating the legacy of Steve Smith Sr. at Lincoln Speedway.

Spring progress at Lavender Acres Winery is moving steadily forward.

Over the past several months, this site has continued transitioning from early earthwork into active site infrastructure and vertical construction. Current progress includes completed grading operations, utility installation, stormwater management infrastructure, paving work, parking lot development, and continued building construction.

With access roads and paved areas now in place, the overall layout of the property is becoming much more defined. The vineyard rows, finished contours, and ongoing structural work are all starting to tie together as the project advances into its next phase.

Projects like this require extensive coordination behind the scenes — from excavation and site balancing to drainage, utility tie-ins, and sequencing trades efficiently to keep production moving forward.

Looking forward to watching Lavender Acres continue to take shape through the spring and summer months.

Eagle View Park – Phase 2 is starting to take shape in Dover Township.

The newly constructed baseball field is coming into view, and the walking track is beginning to define the layout of the space. What started as site development work is now becoming a future community recreation area.

YEC’s scope includes demolition, storm drainage, parking lot construction, asphalt road improvements, fencing, and permanent seeding as the project continues toward its anticipated Fall 2026 completion.

Progress you can see. Groundwork that makes it possible.

Despite steady rain and gloomy skies throughout the morning, the Memorial Day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Gold Star Healing and Peace Garden moved forward as planned.

And somehow, during the dedication and wreath-laying ceremony itself, the skies seemed to pause—holding their watery eyes just long enough for the community to gather, reflect, and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This year’s ceremony recognized the legacy of the Four Chaplains and the values they stood for: unity, courage, faith, and selflessness. The event also paid tribute to Gold Star families and the continued importance of remembrance within our community.

One quote included in the program captured the heart behind the ceremony:

“We mothers are proud of our sons and daughters who won peace and freedom for the world. Guard well this heritage for the mothers of the future.”
— American War Mothers Monument at Penn Park, York, PA

York Excavating Company was honored to support this meaningful project alongside Real Services, Hartman Concrete, Trump Lawn and Land Company, ASCOM Electric , Gingrich Memorials , and SUN Precast, Inc..

As the ceremony concluded and the rain returned, it served as a reminder that remembrance is not dependent on perfect weather—because honoring sacrifice never stops for the storm.

Special thanks to everyone who attended, participated, and continues supporting the mission of The Four Chaplains Memorial of York County , including: Veterans Memorial Gold Star Healing and Peace Garden Board, The Four Chaplains Memorial of York County Board, The City of York, South Carolina Group , York City Parks Conservancy , First Capitol Detachment #521 Marine Corps League, Atlas Rubber Stamp & Printing, Reynolds AV, LLC, and Grand Rental of York.

Rain or shine, the mission behind the Four Chaplains Memorial carries on.

Despite the weather, the decision has been made to continue forward with today’s Memorial Day events. Ceremonies will begin at 11:00 AM as the community gathers to honor the legacy, sacrifice, and service represented by the Four Chaplains.

Projects like this are built to withstand the elements—but more importantly, so are the people and the purpose behind them.

York Excavating Company is honored to have played a role alongside Real Services, Hartman Concrete, Trump Lawn and Land Company , ASCOM Electric , Gingrich Memorials, and SUN Precast, Inc. in helping prepare this memorial space for today’s remembrance.

We hope those attending take a moment to reflect not only on the history being honored, but on the unity and sacrifice that continue to bring people together today.

Memorial Day means something a little different in industries built by hard work, sacrifice, and service.

Today, we pause to remember the men and women who gave their lives for this country—and the families who carry that loss every day after.

At York Excavating Company, we know freedom wasn’t handed to us. It was earned by people willing to serve something bigger than themselves. That kind of sacrifice deserves more than a moment. It deserves remembrance.

From all of us at YEC, thank you to those who served, those we’ve lost, and the families who continue to honor them.

We’re proud to have been part of the Leaders Heights Elementary School expansion and renovation as the site development company for this project.

A project of this size takes a strong team, careful coordination, and a lot of work below the surface to support what the community now sees above ground. From site preparation and grading to utilities, stormwater, access drives, retaining walls, and the many moving pieces that come with challenging topography, our crew helped lay the groundwork for this important investment in Dallastown’s students and families.

Congratulations to Dallastown Area School District, RLPS Architects, Site Design Concepts, Inc., and the entire project team on the ribbon cutting and completion of a project that will serve this community for years to come.
