Should we always scan as deep as possible when looking for groundwater? Not necessarily.

Deeper scans can reveal what’s far below… but there's a trade-off: the deeper you go, the lower the resolution. Technically, ERT can go beyond 600 ft if the condition is right, although 300 ft usually strikes a good balance of depth and resolution for most of our local geology and equipment capabilities.

That’s why the first step is always to study local well data and geology. Understanding what’s typical for your area will help us decide the optimal depth and survey setup.

Thinking about drilling a well? Make your investment count!

At AquaFinders, we use proven science to help your well driller identify the best spot to drill—so you get stronger flow, cleaner water, and avoid costly mistakes.

If you’re already planning to drill, why not make sure you’re tapping into the best your land has to offer?

💧 Drilling without data can lead to unnecessarily deep—and expensive—wells, or worse, dry holes.

🌱 Shallow or infiltration aquifers are more vulnerable to surface contaminants like w**d killers, pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemicals.

✅ We use geophysics to “x-ray” the ground and guide you to the most promising location—maximizing water yield and quality, boosting property value, reducing risk and wasted costs, improving budget predictability, and opening up new possibilities for your land.

Don’t leave it to chance—find water with confidence.

Watch out for dry wells! - AquaFinders can help you locate the best water source on your land.

P.S.: It's not always about drilling deeper—sometimes, deeper aquifers have fractures that allow water to rise closer to the surface. That means your final cost could be the same as drilling a more shallow well, but with much better water.

The high demand for well drilling due to construction in the Treasure Valley and the steep price tag that comes with it leaves people like Lundquist on the w...

💧 It’s not just about finding "some" water… it’s about finding the best water!

If you’re planning to drill a well, read this before you spend a single dollar.

Too many landowners stop at “there’s water down there”—but not all water is equal. The truth is, the location you drill makes all the difference in how productive, reliable, and clean your well will be over the years.

✅ Will it provide enough water—not just now, but 10 years from now?
Gardens grow. Livestock expands. Families move in. Some aquifers dry up faster than others. You want a source that can handle your future, not just your present.

✅ How drought-resistant is it?
Some water-bearing zones go dry during long hot summers. Others run deep and stay steady—even in the worst conditions. Science helps us find those resilient zones.

✅ What about water quality?
Drill in the wrong spot, and you might pull in runoff from neighboring fields—full of herbicides, pesticides, or bacteria. The right survey helps you avoid those contaminated layers.

At AquaFinders, we use advanced, non-invasive geophysical imaging to scan your land and guide you to the most productive and cleanest well site available.

Why guess when you can use real science to make one of the most important decisions for your land?

Our Electric Resistivity Tomography (ERT) surveys are minimally invasive! We simply place small electrodes into the ground and send gentle electrical pulses through the soil. No digging, no damage—just smart science helping you find underground water with precision and care. 🔌🌱

Electric Resistivity Tomography (ERT) is a scientific method used to “see” underground by sending small electrical currents into the soil and measuring how the ground resists the flow. This helps reveal layers of rock, water, and other hidden features beneath the surface. It used to be a tool reserved for large companies and government agencies due to its high cost—but not anymore. AquaFinders is making ERT accessible and affordable for landowners, farmers, and well drillers who want to make smart, science-based decisions before drilling.
