We improved Pophie’s understanding of commands like “change it” / “switch to another one”, helping her better understand your intention and reducing cases where she misunderstands your request.
For example, when playing music, Pophie can better understand what you mean when you say “change it.”

📖 Community Spotlight: An engineering concept that genuinely impressed us

Every so often someone in this community creates something that makes our whole engineering team stop and take a proper look. This is one of those times.

Caledonia — a professional photographer and personal-robotics enthusiast — sent us a 20-page technical proposal for "Pophie-Mobile," a modular, optional mobility platform for Pophie. And this wasn't a wishlist — it was a genuine systems-level design.

A few things that stood out to us:

🔹 A safety-first architecture that cleanly separates Pophie's high-level intent from a deterministic controller handling the actual motion — so the drivetrain, braking, obstacle and cliff detection, tilt limits and emergency cutoff are all managed independently. In her words: "Pophie decides where she wants to go; the base decides whether it's safe."

🔹 Two thought-through implementation paths — a low-risk development version using the existing dock, and a fully integrated production concept.

🔹 Real engineering discipline throughout — she carefully flagged every point that depended on internal specs as an assumption to be confirmed, rather than guessing. That intellectual honesty is rare and it's exactly how good engineering starts.

And through all of it, one principle stays constant: Pophie remains completely herself. The concept never changes who she is — it only imagines new ways for her to be present in your world.

To be clear, this is a community concept — a passion project, not an announced product. We're sharing it to celebrate the craft and thought behind it. 💜
