Today was a special day at Iron City as we welcomed our first generation back for a walk through the facility. It was an opportunity to reflect on just how far we’ve come—from new equipment and updated processes to a more efficient operation and an overall stronger business.

Seeing those changes through the eyes of the generation that started it all was a powerful reminder that none of this would have been possible without their vision, grit, and willingness to take a risk. Building this company took hard work, long days, and an unwavering commitment to creating something meaningful—and that foundation continues to drive us today.

What makes this journey even more special is that it spans generations. Our second generation continues to play an active role in the business, while the third generation is now stepping in and beginning to take on the reins.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, grateful for those who built the foundation, and excited for what the future holds. Here’s to honoring our past while continuing to build for the next generation.

Today, members of the Iron City Wood Products team attended the Inspire: Teen Driving Safety event at SPIRE Institute, where more than 1,500 students and community members gathered to learn about the real-life impact of distracted driving.

Our President, Tina Muslovski Yanssens , shared a deeply personal message about the loss of her father, Dave Muslovski, the founder of Iron City Wood Products and our former President who was tragically killed in a texting and driving crash. By sharing her family’s story, Tina helped put into perspective how a single moment of distraction can have lifelong consequences for families, businesses, and entire communities.

Dave built Iron City Wood Products on hard work, relationships, and doing the right thing. Honoring his legacy means continuing to share this message and encouraging safer decisions behind the wheel.

The takeaway is simple but critical: no text, call, or notification is worth a life. Whether you’re driving for work, commuting, or heading home to your family, your full attention belongs on the road.

We’re grateful to everyone who attended and to the organizers for bringing awareness to such an important topic. If this message helps even one person choose not to text while driving, it makes a difference.

This week, as we recognize National Safe Driving Week, we pause for something deeply personal to our company and our family.

Fifteen years ago, we lost our founder — Dave, a devoted father, loyal friend, and an extraordinary leader — to a tragic crash caused by a young driver who was texting behind the wheel.
His loss changed our family forever. It also shaped the way we view safety, responsibility, and the value of every person who steps inside our gates or out on the road.

Dave loved the pallet industry. He loved the hard-working people in it, the camaraderie, the problem solving, and the pride of building something real. He believed in treating people with respect, leading by example, and doing the right thing even when no one was watching.

As we honor National Safe Driving Week, we honor him — and we recommit ourselves to the safety values he lived by:
• Stay alert.
• Stay responsible.
• Protect each other.
• Never take a shortcut when it comes to safety.

Today, we invite our customers, partners, vendors, and friends in the industry to share a memory of Dave, or simply join us in reminding others that no text, no call, no distraction is worth a life.

Thank you, Dave, for the foundation you built and the legacy you left. We carry you with us in every decision, every mile, and every pallet moved.
