When you hire professionals you can expect professional quality. I do a personal finish walkthrough on almost every job we do. No cutting corners, no cheap subcontractors, no cheap materials, and always up to and above North Carolina building codes. If you have a hard time getting hold of a quality contractor it's because they are very busy, so in this instance as in most others.... patience pays. I always recommend to my friends and clients to start looking for a contractor six to eight months before they ever plan on beginning the project. A rule of thumb that I go by is that you either need a lot of time or a lot of money on big projects. If you don't have time and want the project started next week you better be willing to pay top dollar if you are looking for professional quality. If your budget is lower and you still want top quality, you will have to invest more time to research, purchase products, wait for sales, and find a comfortable place in your contractor schedule when they aren't too busy.
