Hello everyone, Kallin here! sorry I haven't updated this page since february. We have made lots of progress but not a lot of visual progress.work has started on the engine overhaul to the E225-8. We have painted it like it would have been when it was new in 1953. We have finally gotten the left side lower instrument panel parts made and test fitted. Now we can start work on the speed slope windshield and the battery box relocation. We have removed and serviced all the cable pulleys, so far they all look perfect! We are still finding more “ gunk” in the belly that keeps showing up. So what's next? We hope to have all the cables inspected in the next week or so. We will be buying a new windshield in the coming month that will need to be fitted to the frame and fuselage. Once it has been fitted we can rivet the front sheet metal on for good. We will need to repair or find a better front engine baffle. Lots more that has to be done than I can list out but you get the picture!

If anyone has a better looking front engine baffle from an A-F bonanza let me know!

Today marks somewhat of a big milestone in this project. I have completed the cad modeling of all the parts we will need to replace in the instrument panel. We will fabricate the red parts on the left to replace the chopped up originals. The red part on the right will be replacing the original part to make room for more breakers and future upgrades.

Wow it’s been three months since my last post! I guess time flies when you’re having fun!

It seems that I forgot to post some pictures of something cool we found under the paint. In the pictures you can see some of the original paint job. We taped it off so we could measure and replicate it when it’s time for new paint.

In the last update we started taking off the dzus bucket for the cowling. Most of the screws were removed without issue. The others did not want to come out without some persuasion. I had to weld on a nut to get something I could turn. We will send the mounts out to get plated back to the original clear cad and will install new springs.

We decided it was time to get everything out on the floor of the shop so we could decide what we are going to use on 3464B, save for future projects and a pile to be sold. We had SO MUCH STUFF! We got it all sorted and organized. I have a trailer full of items we will start selling off in the next few months.

During the teardown we removed the original instrument panel assembly. The part of the instrument panel that the pilot would see had been repainted many times, but the sub panel that all the instruments had been mounted to was the original color. We sent the sub panel and the breaker door off to get the original colors made into modern day paint.

Most of the last couple of months I have been drawing the left and right lower sub panels in CAD. From these parts we can make repairs for the left side and a new lower part for the right side with room for more breakers from modern instruments. I still have to draw the center piece to complete the lower section of the panel assembly. Once I have all the modeling done I will send it over to my dad Kevin and he will put it together with the Beech kit panel that he drew up to do one final check before we start making parts.

My grandfather Jim has taken the landing gear all apart so we can get it sand blasted and power coated in silver by a company my cousin owns. Once they have been powder coated we will get new seals and get them all back together and ready to be installed when it’s time.

Jim and I flew in his 1964 S35 bonanza to NC to pick up some parts. We also picked up a late model speed slope windshield to help us jig the front metal. We will put new glass in this frame and it will be installed in 3464B.

Hello everyone we have started the long task of selling off the radio equipment we won’t need for the rebuild. The next few post will be what we are selling. If you interested send me a message.

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted any updates recently it’s been a crazy busy month. There’s not a lot of visual progress but there has been a lot of work done. Mike Redpath sent us an original left map case door and two pulls! Thank you mike ! More parts have been stripped and ready for inspection. We have started cleaning the landing gear parts up that will be re-platted in original clear cad. We have stripped all the painted parts on the engine they are not ready to be inspected.

Not a lot of progress in the last two weeks, but the flare tubes have been removed from the Staggerwing fuselage fairing and the instrument panel has been removed to start the rebuild of the panel.

This week has yielded the most visual change thus far. All the paint has been removed and revealed signs of the original paint job lines. We have measured everything we could see of the original paint job so that the new paint can be exactly like it was in 1953 when it left Beech. Now that the paint is removed we can also do some repairs and we have some rivets to replace. We removed the right side of the piano key section of the panel on the parts Bonanza to use as a pattern to repair 3464B. We also have figured out where the aux fuel pump was installed when the auto control was installed.

Hi everyone and welcome to our page. First, I’d like to thank all of you for liking this page! We are up to 167!! I plan to update this page on the progress of N3464B at least once every week.

Now to why y’all are here: this week was mainly removing the radios, wiring, and instrument panel components from the parts Bonanza. N3464B has pretty much been stripped of everything that can be easily removed. We have left the original wiring but bagged it up to protect it during the stripping process. We also started getting the fuselage ready to be completely stripped by removing the paint around all the windows and doors so we can seal them up to keep stripper out.

Most of the writing had been worn off the center plastic so we needed to get it out to make a new or re paint the original. I managed to get it out with too much work, and mostly intact.
