Each year, we create the audiovisual system for Medallia Experience. For this edition, we developed Medallia’s Signal Machine: a visual construct that captures, processes, and amplifies signals, transforming them into meaningful action.
The machine begins with a sparse flow of signals — small, isolated particles moving through the system, representing direct customer feedback. As it activates, more signals enter and multiple data streams begin to connect, expanding the flow and transforming the machine into a dynamic system. Through this evolution, the machine comes to life, revealing how raw signals become meaningful insights.
Our visual approach for this project, takes cues from Dieter Rams’s design principles, reinterpreted in a dark mode style and combined with some more playful elements that bring the system to life. A symbolic use of color runs throughout, with Medallia’s signature green emerging as a key accent, highlighting the moment where raw signals evolve into meaningful insights.
