On April 2, 2025, President Donald J. Trump declared a national emergency to address foreign trade practices adversely affecting the U.S. economy. As part of this initiative, a 10% tariff will be imposed on all imports, with higher rates for specific countries to rectify trade imbalances. Notably, certain goods are exempt from these tariffs, including semiconductors and specific minerals not available in the United States.
This exemption indicates that Vietnam's semiconductor and rare earth industries will not be directly impacted by the newly announced U.S. tariffs. Vietnamese exporters in these sectors can continue their operations without the immediate concern of additional tariff burdens.

Vào ngày 02/04/2025, Tổng thống Donald J. Trump đã tuyên bố sắc lệnh khẩn cấp quốc gia nhằm đối phó với các chính sách thương mại từ nước ngoài gây ảnh hưởng tiêu cực đến nền kinh tế Hoa Kỳ. Trong khuôn khổ sắc lệnh này, Hoa Kỳ sẽ áp thuế 10% đối với tất cả hàng nhập khẩu, với mức thuế cao hơn dành cho một số quốc gia nhất định nhằm điều chỉnh cán cân thương mại.
Đáng chú ý là một số mặt hàng được miễn trừ khỏi các mức thuế này bao gồm chất bán dẫn và một số khoáng sản không có sẵn tại Hoa Kỳ.
