🫆 On Pentecost island, we came across this indigenous & unique engineering design & build where local traditional expertise and wisdom is passed down from one generation to the next!

🌳 In North Pentecost a "Ghamali" is being built at Arasa Village (Abwatuntora), North Pentecost. The fittings and connections are all of local & traditional availability, with only the use of hardware nails - such designs have stood up against all earthquakes & cyclones! 💥

🔖What an amazing Structural Engineering feat of traditional ingenuity! 💥💯🫆

Department of Water Resources-Vanuatu RWHS Pentecost Project - Package 1 & 2 🚰

PI WORKS STAGE 2 - MOBILIZATION & DISTRIBUTION OF MATERIALS

🪸🪨 For the 24 project sites of North Pentecost with a total of 45 sites for Pentecost Island, all communities have distributed sand & coral to their respective sites.

🔖 We have personally witnessed first-hand on site how isolated communities have carried 30kg of wet sand & coral over 1km of steep and wet terrains to construction sites - work e mas kohed!

PI WORKS STAGE 2 - MOBILIZATION & DISTRIBUTION OF MATERIALS

🪸🪨 For the 24 project sites of North Pentecost with a total of 45 sites for Pentecost Island, all communities involved have been consulted with respective mutual understandings of RWH shelters' constructions & materials (sand & coral) extraction.

🔖 All locations of RWH shelters & Tanks have been finalized and agreed upon with initial setting out of works preparation for the major construction works!

🛻 What an awesome journey for us to be in the mobilization stages of our Project as we defy all odds!
For the 24 project sites of North Pentecost with a total of 45 sites for Pentecost Island, we have utilized all local transportation services to assist us in distributing all construction materials from the Port of Loltong to each respective sites inland - existing road conditions of Pentecost always brings out the A game in all! As the saying goes "Pentecost, the Land of Land Cruisers!" 🔖

🚢️ FIRST SHIPMENT & DISTRIBUTION SITES FOR NORTH PENTECOST: First construction materials' shipment for 24 Sites of the total 45 sites (North Pentecost & Central Pentecost) to Loltong Pasis.
The 24 project sites for North Pentecost are as follows: Lamoru, Lagatava, Labwaru, Abwatvenue, Angerena, Amangao, Aviriana, Anlulu, Labuanga , Abwarohi, Atangurua Top, Atangurua Bottom, Atangurua Center, Lavanutagaro, Aliganvanua, Atanmea, Lolmison, Label, Avanguresi, Navenul, Abwalulua, Lolsarivuana, Lagarobwaia, Atalabua

✅️ WATER TANKS: For the total 45 no. x 10,000Ltr water tanks at the Santo Rotomould Vanuatu Ltd & Fiberglass Vanuatu & Pacific Polytanks - 24 water tanks for North Pentecost, only 10 tanks have been shipped to Loltong and distributed onsite. The remaining 14 await shipment to Loltong for complete distribution onsite.

✅️CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS: Building construction materials for the respective 24 sites have been shipped to Loltong and distributed onsite. Remaining materials await shipment to Loltong for complete distribution onsite.

🫆 For the 24 sites of North Pentecost, 95% of all building construction materials & 10 water tanks have been shipped to Loltong and distributed onsite. 14 water tanks awaiting shipment to Loltong for complete distribution onsite 🔖

PI WORKS STAGE 1 - INSPECTIONS OF MATERIALS FOR MOBILIZATION

✅️ FIRST SHIPMENT & SITES: First construction materials' shipment for 24 Sites of the total 45 sites (North Pentecost & Central Pentecost) to Loltong via MV Kaliara.
The 24 project sites are as follows: Lamoru, Lagatava, Labwaru, Abwatvenue, Angerena, Amangao, Aviriana, Anlulu, Labuanga , Abwarohi, Atangurua Top, Atangurua Bottom, Atangurua Center, Lavanutagaro, Aliganvanua, Atanmea, Lolmison, Label, Avanguresi, Navenul, Abwalulua, Lolsarivuana, Lagarobwaia, Atalabua

✅️ WATER TANKS: For the total 45 no. x 10,200L water tanks at the Santo Rotomould Vanuatu Ltd & Fiberglass Vanuatu & Pacific Polytanks, 24 water tanks and connectors for the 24 respective sites have been inspected to conformity, ready for shipment to Loltong.

✅️CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS: All building construction materials for the respective 24 sites have been inspected at the Wilco Santo to conformity, ready for shipment to Loltong.
