*ATTENTION*

Vermiculite is a mineral used in insulation, gardening and construction.
Vermiculite containing asbestos is primarily from the Libby, Montana mine ranging from the 1920’s - 1990’s.
While the Libby Montana mine was the dominant source of vermiculite to the North American market, specifically southern Ontario. There were other mines that sourced the region as well and they did not contain asbestos. Such as Brazil, Africa, China, Russia and other parts of the states.
So…. The moral of the story folks, is that if you find vermiculite while renovating your home, get it tested! You never know.

Also…. If your house was built before 1990, then there is possibly of asbestos in the drywall plaster too.
