Müller (*1915 / †2010) founded the company in Essen, part of the Ruhr region, in 1961. In 1963 he built a production plant for concrete and mortar admixtures in Bottrop, a neighbouring town of Essen. Today, the family-run company is one of the leading international manufacturers of building chemical products and technologies. It is managed by Dr. Ekkehard zur Mühlen and Nicolaus M. Müller, the fou

Introducing Dr. Frédéric Grabowski ✨

CHEMISTRY THAT CONNECTS 🧪🤝🌎
Since 1 April 2026, Dr. Frédéric Grabowski (33) has been responsible for the strategic development of PCE raw materials at MC-Bauchemie as Product Line Manager.
His enthusiasm for chemistry started early. After vocational training as a chemical-technical assistant, he studied chemistry at RWTH Aachen University where he completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. As part of his doctoral research at RWTH Aachen University and the DWI – Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials, he focused on functional and interactive polymers.🎓🔬
At MC, Frédéric combines his technical expertise with commercial and strategic responsibilities. His tasks include benchmarking internal and external PCE systems, developing new approaches, and optimizing global volume and cost structures. 🌎🤝 In doing so, he also contributes to ensuring a reliable supply of PCEs throughout the entire MC Group. A particular focus is on building up and transferring production expertise worldwide, combining scientific precision with international collaboration.
Outside of work, Frédéric enjoys music and fishing since his youth.🎶🎣 During his studies, he also discovered rugby – and especially values the teamwork, respect and commitment that come with the sport. 🏉💙

With Konudur Robopox 26, MC-Bauchemie is launching a new epoxy resin filler compound for trenchless sewer rehabilitation. The material has been specially developed for force-fit repairs in non-accessible sewers using robotic technology and is suitable for repairing cracks, joints, and defects. 💪

MC-Bauchemie Ghana celebrates its 10th anniversary 🎉
From 28 to 30 July 2026, MC Ghana marked a decade of growth with a three-day anniversary programme, which brought together customers, industry experts, partners and employees.
The celebrations included a high-level symposium on structural safety and climate resilience, an anniversary dinner with awards and a dedicated employee event at the company’s headquarters. 🤝
From a small team to more than 80 professionals supporting projects across Ghana and West Africa, the past ten years have been shaped by expertise, collaboration and a strong commitment to quality.
The anniversary was an opportunity not only to reflect on this journey, but also to look ahead, with the ambition of strengthening technical leadership, fostering knowledge and contributing to a safer, more sustainable, and more resilient built environment in Ghana. 🌍

✨ Paweł Jędrzejak takes on regional PLM responsibility for CEE

Paweł Jędrzejak has been appointed Regional Product Line Manager R&D Admixtures CEE, effective 1 July 2026, expanding his previous responsibilities at MC-Bauchemie Poland to a regional role covering Central and Eastern Europe. 👏🌍 With more than 20 years at MC-Bauchemie and extensive experience in admixture development, Paweł will be responsible for regional R&D activities while also continuing to support local operations in Poland. This dual responsibility will help strengthen the connection between local market requirements and regional development priorities 🔬 In his new role, he will coordinate R&D activities across 12 countries, focusing on knowledge sharing, training, and product and formulation harmonization in close collaboration with local teams and the regional and global R&D organization. 🤝

Concrete technology for mega projekt in vietnam 🇻🇳🏗️

Vinhomes, Vietnam's largest commercial real estate developer, has been working with MC-BIFI Construction Chemicals since 2022 on some of the country's most significant urban development projects. The collaboration has involved the use of high-performance concrete admixtures, technical consultancy and flexible delivery logistics. These projects include Royal Island, Ocean Park 2 & 3, Cam Ranh, Green Paradise, Apollo City and Mega Grand World. One of these developments is Vinhomes Ocean Park 2 (The Empire) near Hanoi, featuring the 18-hectare Royal Wave Park with a sandy beach and artificial waves, as well as extensive leisure and recreational facilities. 🌊 Mega Grand World, also near Hanoi, is another striking Vinhomes development combining over 800 shops with an 830-metre canal inspired by Venice. MC-BIFI provides high-performance superplasticisers based on the latest MC polymer technology from the MC-PowerFlow range. ✨These are complemented by MC-Centrament WP 100 and MC-Drycrete 108 for earth-moist concrete. This supports extended workability, high strengths and improved pumpability. 🤝

Introducing Dr Patricia Steffen ✨

BALANCING PRODUCT MANAGEMENT, FAMILY & SPORT ⚖️💙

Dr Patricia ‘Patti’ Steffen (41) has been working in MC’s Resin Flooring product management team for around 13 years. A native of Bochum, she spends a lot of time with her family alongside her work and is also very active in sport – and her three boys certainly keep her on her toes. 👩‍💼🏗️👨‍👩‍👦‍👦⚽️🎾

Patti discovered her passion for chemistry whilst still at school and knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue this interest professionally. 🧪 After completing her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Ruhr University Bochum, she went on to complete her PhD at TU Dortmund University. 🎓 Even before she officially received her PhD, she began her professional career at MC in 2013. As a junior product manager, she was responsible for the development of MC-DUR TopSpeed and later played a key role in the successful market launch of the entire product family. 🧪💡

Shortly after her probationary period, she became a product manager and later also took over as head of product management for Resin Flooring. In this role, she gained valuable experience on numerous international projects. 🌎🤝

In 2020, Patti took a second period of parental leave to focus more on her family. After 14 months, she returned and has since been contributing her many years of experience to the department once again as a product manager. “Even as a mother, I always looked forward to returning to MC. At this stage in my career, I really appreciate that I can balance family and work well and that I’m given a great deal of autonomy.” ⚖️

Alongside her work, her family is her top priority. 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 Raising her three sons is particularly close to her heart. As the children play tennis and football for their clubs, Patricia spends a lot of time on sports pitches – sometimes as a dedicated supporter on the sidelines, sometimes with a tennis racket in her hand herself. ⚽️🎾🙌
