Algamundi - The Green Factory - is an Italian innovative biotechnology and chemical startup founded in 2013 by a team of experienced engineers, biologists, chemists and entrepreneurs, with a vision of the coming future in life sciences. The company investigates and develops microalgae cultivation on a large scale in order to obtain natural molecules, additives and new dyes. Algamundi is mainly focused on the production of biomass rich in Astaxanthin and other natural molecules by transforming several tons of CO2 through innovative biotechnologies. PRODUCTS
We research and supply astaxanthin highly-enriched biomass, health additives, food and feed supplements and natural dyes that are applied for different applications in nutraceutics, foodstuffs, icecreams, dairy products, confectionery, sweetmeats, soft drinks, beverages, pet and animal food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and others. 1) Development of efficient microalgae cultivation systems. Algamundi researches and manufactures highly efficient cultivation systems that ca be easily scaled-up to large production systems.
2) Development of biological Carbon Capture and Sequestration technologies. The know-how acquired by our researchers is applied to develop algae-based Carbon Capture and Sequestration commercial technologies, which are dedicated to reduce the impact of CO2 for both industrial and agricultural sectors. Algamundi develops fully-automated photobioreactors, equipped with high technology environment sensors. We develop embedded C-code firmware on Arduino technology hardware, to manage all cultivation system parameters through closed-loop algorithms.
