The 2026 “Bluebonnet” Texas State Light Varmint & Sporter Championship in New Braunfels, Texas USA () delivered everything benchrest shooters expect from the Texas Hill Country — heavy rain, switching winds, difficult mirage, and constantly changing conditions.

Through it all, Speedy Gonzalez delivered an outstanding performance using a March 48×52 Benchrest Riflescope. Speedy opened strong by winning the Light Varmint 100-yard match with a superb 0.2320 Agg, then followed it up with another victory in the 200-yard Light Varmint event, shooting an impressive 0.1938 Agg in challenging afternoon conditions. On Sunday, he continued his excellent weekend by winning the Sporter 200-yard match with a 0.2227 Agg, handling tricky dead-calm conditions and heavy mirage with consistency and precision.

When the final scores were tallied, Speedy Gonzalez’s consistent performance throughout the weekend earned him:
Texas State Light Varmint Champion — 0.2720
Texas State Sporter Champion — 0.2083
2026 Bluebonnet 2-Gun Champion — 0.2401
We are proud to see our March 48×52 riflescope perform at the highest level under some of the toughest conditions Texas benchrest competition can offer.

While Speedy Gonzalez captured the Light Varmint, Sporter, and overall 2-Gun Championships, the 2026 Bluebonnet also featured outstanding performances from many top shooters throughout the weekend. Congratulations to all competitors — including fellow March scope users — who battled through demanding Texas conditions and produced remarkable groups and aggregates. This year’s Bluebonnet once again showcased the high level of skill, competition, and sportsmanship within the benchrest community.

--Tenebraex Lens Covers & Custom-Made Adapter Rings by DEON--
We believe it’s important to pay attention to small details. For the shooter, ease of use and a natural fit make a consistent difference in everyday handling.

This set was prepared for the March-FX 5x-42x56mm Gen II riflescope based on feedback from PRS shooters. The lens covers are made by Tenebraex, while the adapter rings are designed and manufactured by DEON to match them and fit the scope properly, ensuring secure attachment and ease of use. By combining a trusted external product with our own in-house components, this set focuses on practical, reliable performance in use.
Note: It is possible to remove the adapter rings once installed. However, if the adapter ring’s threads are stuck tightly, there is a risk that the entire part on the main body side may come off as well. When removing it, please make sure that the main body side does not rotate together.

As we have received a number of inquiries regarding self-check procedures and whether individual scopes meet the criteria for inspection, we would like to provide the following information for your reference.

Thank you very much for your continued support of our products and we sincerely apologize for any concern or inconvenience regarding the POI shift observed in the 5–42×56 model. At this time, this issue has only been observed in the 5–42×56 model. We remain committed to ensuring that every shooter can use our products with confidence and will continue to support you with care and attention.

(A) When to Consider Service
To help avoid unnecessary repairs and extended turnaround times, we kindly ask that you review the following items before sending your product in for service.

(1) Muzzle Area Check
-Ensure the muzzle brake is securely installed.
-Confirm it is mounted without unnecessary stress or misalignment.

(2) Mount and Ring Check
-Ensure the scope rings are properly installed.
-Confirm all screws are tightened evenly to the recommended torque as in the link below.
https://marchscopes.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Torque-english-2021.12.9.pdf

(3) Shooting Environment
-Confirm you are shooting from a stable platform, such as a benchrest setup.

(4) Functional Check
-Verify that your initial zero is properly set.
-Adjust the elevation dial and check whether the point of impact moves as expected with your adjustments.
-Ensure parallax is properly adjusted. Please refer to the link below.
https://marchscopes.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/How-to-adjust-5-42.pdf
-If possible, we recommend testing under consistent conditions and confirming results with a small group of shots.

After completing the checks above, and confirming your zero, if you still observe a consistent point-of-impact shift of 0.4 mil or greater in the elevation direction, we recommend considering service. *Please note that no issues have been identified in the windage direction.

(B) Before Contacting Us
When contacting us, we would greatly appreciate it if you could provide the results of all the checks listed above. This information helps us process your repair more efficiently and may help reduce overall service time.

(C) (ONLY For U.S. Customers) Service Turnaround Time
Service requires us to hold your product for a period of time:
Shipping (Texas to Japan): approximately 1 week
Additional time may be required for Japanese customs clearance

As rifle scopes are considered weapons and are regulated items in Japan, an export permit is required before return, which typically takes approximately 2–3 weeks. Even under normal conditions and without any shipping issues, the total turnaround time, including round-trip shipping, may take a minimum of approximately 5–6 weeks. Please note that the export application requires confirmation via email with you. Delays in your response may result in delays in the overall process.

Once export approval is obtained, we will arrange return shipment promptly. The product will be shipped directly from Japan to you. Return shipping typically takes about 1 week, depending on customs conditions. We aim to complete the repair while the export permit is being processed and to return your product as soon as approval is granted. As the cause has already been identified in this case, we expect to proceed with the repair more quickly than usual. For your reference, for general repair cases where the cause cannot be immediately determined, a thorough investigation may be required, which can result in a longer service time compared to this case.

(D) Final Notes
We understand that experiences may vary depending on individual setups and conditions. We encourage you to perform the checks above as much as possible, and if you continue to notice concerning behavior, please feel free to consider service. If your scope is performing as expected, there is no need to send it in.

Please also note that your scope will be out of your possession during the service period. We will do our utmost to complete the process as quickly and carefully as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We remain committed to supporting all shooters and ensuring your confidence in our products.

Important Notice Regarding Repairs of March 5–42×56 Riflescopes

(1) About Our Company
We are a small, specialized manufacturer in Japan, much like a company that builds racing cars. We develop scopes tailored for each type of competition, aiming to achieve the highest possible performance within the rules. To meet the specific needs of individual shooters, our product range includes more than three times the number of SKUs compared to major manufacturers.

DEON (manufacturer of March Scopes) was founded by engineers with extensive experience at the world’s largest OEM manufacturer of high-end scopes. Our mission is to create the best possible products for our own brand, without being constrained by external limitations. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of precision and quality for every shooter.

(2) Product Overview: March 5–42×56
Since its launch in 2020, the first-generation March 5–42×56 has been very well received by customers worldwide. Building on this success, a second-generation model with enhanced image quality and wider range of turret options etc. was released in 2024 and is now available. Additionally, the PRS model was released in 2025.

In February 2026, we received scopes from two shooters for repair, and slight point-of-impact (POI) shifts were identified in the March 5–42×56 Genll model. Following this, we expanded our inspection process and implemented corrective measures, which are now reflected in current production models from the A480 onward.

(3) Investigation and Support
As a result of our investigation, we have confirmed that the POI shift phenomenon may potentially occur in any March 5–42×56 model, regardless of generation. There is also a possibility that a small number of previously shipped products may exhibit similar tendencies. Due to potential individual variations, unfortunately it is not possible to identify affected units by serial number for models prior to the A480.

While the number of reported cases is extremely limited and the vast majority of products perform as intended, it is our philosophy to stand behind every shooter and ensure complete confidence in our products. For this reason, we are committed to providing thorough and attentive support to any customer who may have concerns. Please note that this phenomenon has been observed only in the March 5–42×56 model, and other models are unaffected, so customers can be assured of their performance.

We have consistently shipped our products following comprehensive performance evaluations and quality inspections based on internal standards that exceed ISO requirements. In light of this matter, we have further strengthened and expanded our inspection systems and testing procedures.

If you have any concerns regarding your scope, such as a point-of-impact (POI) shift, we will be happy to inspect it free of charge and provide service as necessary. We will carefully assess each case and provide appropriate support based on your specific usage.

(4) Support in the United States
Due to this special circumstance, we have arranged a special return procedure exclusively for the March 5–42×56 model. Under this arrangement, customers are not required to ship their scopes directly to Japan; instead, they may send them to the designated facility in Texas. If you wish to proceed with inspection, please contact us at [email protected], and we will provide you with the appropriate shipping instructions.

We sincerely apologize for any concern this may have caused and remain committed to further improving the quality and reliability of our products.

04/04/2026

We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your continued support of our products. We confirm that there are currently no plans for the development or release of a 5-42x56 Gen III model. The March-FX 5-42x56 Gen II PRS edition remains the most suitable model for PRS within our current lineup. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] We remain committed to delivering the highest quality with our current product lineup.

25/03/2026

Congratulations to Omar Alonzo and Mike Omiyale for winning the 4th Annual Greystone Pro/Am ELR match this past weekend (March 21-22) at the Greystone Castle Sporting club in Mingus, TX. Omar (pro) and Mike (amateur) shot the 2-day competition using rifles prepared by Omar topped by the March-FX 5-42X56Genll riflescope, PRS edition with the FML-WBR reticle and writable turrets.

The two-day match consisted of 6 targets (3 each day) set at increasing distances starting at 800 yards all the way to 2092 yard. Each target required 5 shots. Each group of 3 targets, 15 shots, were engaged in a time of 8 minutes. While the first day saw some mild conditions for the shorter distances, the second day started off in howling winds and they only grew worse for the longer distances, of course.

Omar Alonzo won first place in Pro and Mike Omiyale took second place amateur, at his first ever, ELR match, and as a team (pro/am) they won the match outright. They both took advantage of the writable turrets to highlight the elevation for the 3 targets at the beginning of each day. No counting, just dial to the proper mark and you’re good to go. The clarity of the glass and its inherent resistance to mirage distortion was a great benefit on the first day and the wide FOV (26° AAOV) was a plus being able to go up to 35X or more and still have an expansive field of view to observe trace.
