Week 2 - Bathroom Cleaning Guide
Daily Maintenance Tasks (5-10 minutes)
Keep your bathroom fresh between deep cleans
:
1. Wipe Surfaces: Use a microfiber cloth and an all-purpose cleaner to wipe down the sink, faucet, and countertops.
2. Squeegee Shower: After showering, use a squeegee to remove water from glass doors or tiles to prevent water spots.
3. Quick Toilet Swipe: Brush the toilet bowl with a toilet bowl cleaner and wipe the seat with a disinfectant wipe.
4. Ventilation: Run the exhaust fan or open a window to reduce moisture and prevent mold.
Step-by-Step Deep Clean
1. Prep the Space (2 min)
• Clear countertops, remove towels, and take out the trash.
• Ventilate the room by opening a window or turning on the exhaust fan.
2. Dust and Wipe Surfaces (5 min)
• Use a microfiber cloth to dust shelves, light fixtures, and corners for cobwebs.
• Spray all-purpose cleaner on countertops, sink, and faucets; wipe with a microfiber cloth for a streak-free finish.
3. Clean the Toilet (5-7 min)
• Apply toilet bowl cleaner inside the bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes.
• Scrub the bowl with a toilet brush, focusing on the rim and under the edge. Flush.
• Wipe the seat, lid, and exterior with disinfectant wipes or a cloth with all-purpose cleaner.
4. Shower and Tub (10-12 min)
• Spray tile/grout cleaner on tiles, grout, and shower walls. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
• Scrub with a sponge, focusing on grout lines and soap scum. Rinse thoroughly.
• For glass doors, spray glass cleaner and wipe with a microfiber cloth. Use a squeegee for a polished look.
• Clean the tub with all-purpose cleaner or tile cleaner, scrubbing stains as needed.
5. Mirrors and Glass (3-5 min)
• Spray glass cleaner on mirrors and wipe with a microfiber cloth in a zigzag motion to avoid streaks.
6. Floors (5-7 min)
• Sweep or vacuum to remove hair and debris.
• Mop with a diluted all-purpose cleaner or a floor-specific cleaner, focusing on corners and baseboards.
7. Final Touches (3 min)
• Replace towels, restock toiletries, and empty the trash.
• Check drains for clogs and use a drain cleaner if needed.
