Lumasol is proud to have collaborated with on the successful delivery of SAPY Phase 2 - a large-scale commercial solar installation in KwaZulu-Natal.
The SAPY facility, a textiles manufacturer, required a solution to reduce daytime reliance on Eskom while improving long-term energy efficiency and performance.
System highlights:
• ±800 kW grid-tied solar PV system
• 1,396 × 580 W Canadian Solar panels
• 6 × 125 kW Sungrow grid-tie inverters
• Generator integration for operational flexibility
This installation has already exceeded expectations, currently producing approximately 7% more than projected.
A key component of the project was the custom-engineered mounting structure proudly designed and supplied by Lumasol. Designed to suit the site’s layout while ensuring optimal panel orientation, structural integrity, and long-term durability in local conditions.
