Three years of trust: Ruwacon wins Best of George again

A major achievement for our team:
One on York Retail was delivered in time for its opening on 30 July 2026! 👏

Only three weeks before opening, completing the project on schedule looked increasingly difficult. Through focused leadership, careful coordination and an exceptional team effort, the challenge was met.

Situated next to the new Mediclinic in York Street, George, One on York is a R170 870 553 retail and medical development delivered for LYNX Real Estate.

The project started with the demolition and removal of the existing buildings, services and infrastructure. From this cleared site, the team delivered a three-level development featuring parking, retail and restaurant spaces, plant and service areas, and specialised medical facilities.

Tenants and healthcare providers include Dis-Chem, Mugg & Bean, Intercare, Eden Oncology and Mediclinic Doctor Suites.

The achievement is even more significant considering the severe weather experienced across George and the Garden Route in May. Heavy rainfall, flooding and damaging winds placed additional pressure on the final stages of delivery.

A key milestone at Dihlabeng Regional Hospital!

The sectional completion of Block O marks an important step in the project’s phased decanting plan.

The completed facility will accommodate SABS and NHLS, providing an improved environment from which they can deliver their essential functions and services.

This milestone reflects the coordination, commitment, and workmanship of the project team and everyone involved in bringing this phase to completion.

Progress continues at the Dihlabeng Regional Hospital project.

Block H (Heritage Building) has been carefully refurbished and repurposed. This space will soon accommodate a dedicated Renal Unit alongside essential transport hubs.

Blocks M & N are being developed into a single, extended facility that will deliver significant capacity and care services. Once complete, this block will house 116 beds and include:
- Medical Ward
- Pediatric Ward
- Neonatal Ward
- Maternity Ward
- Helistop

Block O, a new-build component, will support vital diagnostic and blood services, providing facilities for:
- SANBS (South African National Blood Service)
- NHLS (National Health Laboratory Services)

This project reflects a strong commitment to enhancing regional healthcare infrastructure and improving patient outcomes.
