Day Two of the PDTS Introduction to Freehand Sketching and Drawing Workshop is underway! From 10–11 September 2026, we had the privilege of welcoming 10 Mechanical Engineering students from the Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT) for two days of hands-on learning, creativity, and skills development.
Facilitated by Ms. Miralde Kotze and Ms. Kekeletso Phongola, the workshop focused on developing the fundamental sketching skills needed to communicate engineering ideas visually; from lines and proportions to form, perspective, and concept development.
What has impressed us most is the talent, enthusiasm, and confidence this group has shown in applying the skills transferred. Watching ideas move from instruction to paper and seeing students interpret, experiment, and develop their own visual language. Exactly why skills transfer matters.
At PDTS, we believe that every great product begins with an idea, and every idea deserves the opportunity to take shape.
To our talented Mechanical Engineering students: keep sketching, keep exploring, and keep turning those ideas into solutions. The future of innovation starts with the ability to imagine and the courage to put that imagination on paper.
