There’s a reason orange has become a familiar sight on some pretty complicated sites.⁣
⁣
QLC was built for the jobs that need more than equipment. Restricted access, unusual requirements and lifting challenges that need to be properly thought through before anything starts moving.⁣
⁣
The machines are a big part of what we do, but knowing how to approach each site, adapt to what it demands and find the right way forward is what makes the difference.⁣
⁣
Give us the challenge. We’ll take it from there. 💪⁣

Two 300kg Roto tanks needed to be lowered into a ditch and positioned accurately, which gave the Jekko SPX532 a slightly different job from the usual upward lift.⁣
⁣
Fitted with the JIB, the SPX532 gave our team the angle and reach needed to lower each tank below ground level while maintaining control through to final placement.⁣
⁣
It may not have been one of our biggest lifts, but it’s a great example of why the setup matters just as much as the lifting capacity. Every site presents something different, and in this case, the challenge was getting 600kg worth of tanks down into exactly the right place.⁣
⁣
Another one safely in position for the QLC team. 🧡⁣

Small enough to make you underestimate it. Strong enough to prove you wrong. 😉🧡⁣
⁣
Mini cranes have earned their place on some of the most challenging lifts precisely because they don’t need to look enormous to do serious work.⁣
⁣
They can get where conventional lifting equipment often can’t, work within tighter spaces and give our team options on sites where access is half the challenge.⁣
⁣
Around here, “mini” has never meant minor.⁣

Ever wondered why they’re called spider cranes?⁣
⁣
It comes down to those distinctive outriggers. When deployed, they extend out from the compact crane body like a spider’s legs, creating a wide, stable base while allowing the machine itself to remain relatively small.⁣
⁣
That combination is a big part of what makes spider cranes so useful on the kinds of sites we work on: compact enough to access spaces conventional lifting equipment may struggle with, but able to create the stability needed once it’s time to lift.⁣
⁣
So yes, technically we spend our days working with giant spiders.⁣

Think you know your SPX fleet? 👀 At first glance, the SPX532 and SPX650 might look like two members of the same orange family, but what they’re built to handle is quite different.⁣
⁣
The SPX532 packs up to 3 200kg of lifting capacity into a compact footprint, with a lifting height of 11.8 metres, extending to 17 metres with the JIB. It’s a versatile choice when access is limited but the job still demands serious lifting capability.⁣
⁣
The SPX650 steps things up with a 5 000kg lifting capacity and a lifting height of 17.3 metres, extending to 23.6 metres with the JIB, giving us more muscle for heavier, larger lifting applications while retaining the precision and agility spider cranes are known for.⁣
⁣
Knowing the difference matters. Choosing the right machine for the lift matters even more, and that’s where our team comes in.⁣

You’ve seen the orange. But do you know where it comes from? 👀⁣
⁣
Meet Jekko, the Italian manufacturer behind some of the mini cranes you’ll regularly see hard at work on QLC sites.⁣
⁣
Today, Jekko machines operate in more than 50 countries around the world, and there’s a reason they’ve become such an important part of our fleet. Their compact design allows us to bring serious lifting capability into spaces where conventional equipment simply isn’t practical, from restricted-access sites and indoor installations to some of the more unusual lifting challenges that come our way.⁣
⁣
Of course, the machine is only part of what gets the job done. Knowing which crane is right for the lift, how to position it and how to get the most out of its capabilities comes down to the people behind it.⁣
⁣
Jekko builds the machines. We put them to work. ⁣

There’s something about a Jekko that deserves a little appreciation before we put it to work.⁣
⁣
Compact where it needs to be. Serious where it counts. And looking pretty damn good in orange while it’s at it.⁣
⁣
Around here, this is about as close as we get to a supercar.⁣
⁣
Only ours lifts tonnes. 😉⁣

We spend a lot of time talking about what our cranes can lift. This job was more about what they could carefully lower.⁣
⁣
Three 500kg walk-on glass panels needed to travel 4–5 metres down into position, which meant the challenge wasn’t simply handling the weight. It was keeping complete control of it throughout the descent.⁣
⁣
Working at a 10-metre radius, our Jekko SPX532CDH was paired with the S600 Glass Manipulator to handle each panel, while the crane’s winch allowed our operator to lower the glass gradually and give the team the control they needed for accurate placement.⁣
⁣
It’s a slightly different way of looking at what a crane can do. Sometimes the job isn’t about how high you can lift something, but how precisely you can move it in the direction it needs to go.⁣

Not your average crane company. But definitely your preferred one. 😉⁣
⁣
When two 900kg batteries need to be placed into crates, getting them off the ground is only the beginning. The real challenge comes afterwards. You’ve got nearly a tonne suspended in the air, a crate waiting below and a final position that doesn’t leave much room for error.⁣
⁣
Enter the SPX532. Using chain slings, our team took each battery from lift to placement with controlled, deliberate movements, using the SPX532’s stability to manoeuvre the load before carefully lowering it into its crate. At this weight, every movement matters, and the closer you get to the final position, the more precise those movements need to become.⁣
⁣
One battery safely in. Then the whole process starts again.⁣
⁣
1 800kg moved. Two batteries positioned. Mission accomplished.⁣
